If that was the case, why on earth would anyone who'd taken drugs take a test when they could just skip it, get half the ban and still have their reputation reletively intact? You'd only ever test people who were clean Same reason why the penatlty for refusing to supply a breath sample is so harsh, so it's not just an easy way out of drink driving. Depending on what you've taken it can naturally pass out of your system by then, or you can buy stuff that makes your piss clear on the day of the test - hence why they're random, on the spot things rather than "Please make sure you've no drugs left in your piss by 5pm Tuesday."
