I don't get the sentiment you first make. Just because someone is worth more or their valuables are worth more than someone else's it doesn't it doesn't mean they deserve to be mugged or should be subject to it or hide their possessions.

Wearing diamond encrusted watches and walking through a crime-ridden, poverty-stricken neighborhood might be a poor choice. But the guy was outside his own home.

I'm not saying he deserves it or that criminal activity is in any way excusable, but society is shit and this kind of stuff happens. I've been in rough areas before where I'll hide my phone in my deepest pockets and not make calls on it.
