No surprise there.

Relying on Gosling/Marveaux then, which is fine, but it just means that the squad depth is reduced yet again and with Marveaux's injury history it's a bit risky.

Interesting that we seemingly have a lower wage ceiling than Queens Park Rangers.

That how Leeds got in the troubles they did by offering stupid wages, mind you having a rich owner erases that to some extent.

I thought these new FIFA/UEFA rules on wages to turnover were supposesd to eradicate this madness on wages.

'Bartons's greedy, Keegan's greedy, Shearer's greedy, Nolan's greedy, Carroll's greedy, Enrique's greedy...la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la not listening' ad fucking infinitum.

£65K a fucking week and wanting more...and somehow the cunt's not greedy?

If you had a job where you were well paid, and only had a year left on your contract that wasn't getting extended. Would you not jump ship if someone bettered your wage and offered you 3 years? He could stay till the end of the season, but his stock his high right now, and anything can happen in football in a year.

We offered him 3 years if you believe his agent and pretty much every report, but he wanted longer. Yet he leaves for the exact same length contract we put on the table for him.

Maybe he wanted longer because of the supposed pay cut.

Thats what you get when him and his agent play silly buggers.

Certainly can, he can break his foot and be out for 5months. He could have a couple of drinks and go psycho on a lad in the middle of Liverpool. He could lose his cool on the pitch and get done by the FA for hitting another player. Christ, he could even lose form and have a particularly poor run of games where the QPR supporters are wondering why on earth they even signed him in the first place.

If these reports are true then they seemingly have a higher ceiling than most clubs, isn't Modric only on something like £60k a week?

Barton - Left for a much bigger wage than he merits

Keegan - The club were proven wrong here

Shearer - Contract was up, he hadn't exactly shown signs of being much of a manager to get us up, don't see an issue here.

Nolan - Left for a much bigger wage and length contract than he merits.

Carroll - We got a lot more than his market value, he got a massive payrise, joined a bigger club.

Enrique - Wouldn't sign new contract, joined a bigger club.

You have a point but some of us are not blaming Ashley for everything, this is the age of greedy footballers whether you like it or not.

So they'll stick by Barton when he's been convicted off assault and spent time in prison, but because he has the temerity to say nasty things about them on twitter they decide to get rid - what utter babies they really are, the hyper sensitive pair of bulbs.

Joey can be top class, but he can also cost us games. He maybe a bit too similar to Cabaye anyway to play in the same team?

I doubt that is our motive. It also clearly worked fine on saturday

Nothing to do with the complete and utter lack of ambition at the club then? Thought not...

The Alan Carr and McDermott fetus show in effect, ladies and gentlemen.

These players (Barton and Nolan) left because we wouldn't give them contracts. What were they supposed to do? Make their own on Publisher and sign it themselves? Where they've gone and what they were on is irrelevant to me.

They were good enough for us and I don't think it'd have taken 60k and 80k wage rises to convince them to stay.

Didn't Ashley want Barton off the books in 2008 just before Keegan left but Keegan dug his heels in to keep him?

Did anyone say that about Shearer or Keegan? ??? the rest, except (imo) Enrique are true.

Carroll was "forced" out of being number 9 at his boyhood club beause £40k was too much of a struggle to live on.

Nolan went for the ever ambitious West Ham with their completely sensible and non dickhead owners.

Barton is pissing off to QPR

But no, we should have offered the same terms. Because we didn't there is obviously a conspiracy.

Like the we only buy to sell for a profit, we are raking in the profits from the sales of Enrique, Barton and Nolan.

£17m paid, £9m back, ah money, money, money!

Not quite sure who plays on the right with Barton gone - in a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 - despite us having loads of midfielders. Jonas? Ryan Taylor? Guthrie?

Your seeing it black and white, as many have said there is blame on all sides, your just ranting away, you have some valid points but they are being lost in your anger.

I agree with our stance on Nolan, his supposed demands were unreasonable,  Barton deserved a decent contract, not to be treated like shit (obviously stuck by him in priosn bla bla bla) we're far past that, one of our top players, he knows if he's being taken for a ride

Most of them won't be able to debate an issue and will offer daft smilies or crap personal insults as compensation for their inability instead.

I reckon Gosling, in a 4-3-3 as the tucked in 3rd central midfielder, in 4-4-2 as the tucked in wide player.
