Beren
Love the abuse he's being singled out for because he's been privy to more of the reality of the club than we'll ever know for certain. His tweets could just easily read as the "Last Posts of this Member" for about 95% of people on this board ffs. Big difference is what we say isn't taken as gospel, isn't seen my over a million (easy) people, and isn't spread across the net, newspapers and TV with more hungry journos gagging for more mud to sling. His rants go stella every time. There is a big difference. His tweets only represent himself and his own opinions and thoughts though, mate! If anything, something like NUFC.com is a bigger problem. Though the authors very admirably go to great lengths to ensure to make clear they only speak for themselves, it will often be seen as representative of all fans. There's absolutely no reason why he should be discriminated against because he is willing to be transparent about the evils of the club behind closed doors. I'd rather know than not, personally. madras
Thing with Joey, despite his i'm getting my life turned around stuff, which he has to his credit. He takes absolutely no responsibility for his actions at all it seems, its never his fault, fully, partly or remotely, its an astounding level of arrogance and own self importance. Also is it just me, but despite his obvious intelligence and charm, he is very very immature, its hard to spot but if you look you can see it. based on what ? Nearly all his managers and virtually every journ who's interviewed him has said, he is very intelligent and ingaging, also the fact he gained 8 gcse's, if they count nowadays. By the way intelligence doesn't mean shite if you have no common sense imo, to me thats like being in a lovely boat but having no oars to paddle with. AyeDubbleYoo
I think Barton is intelligent in a way, he's just also a bit immature and lacks self awareness, so he places too much importance on his schoolboy posturing and philosophy quotes he gets from Google. Either way, I just think he should respect the fact that he's a QPR player now and has no business slagging off NUFC in public.

Very true and impossible to measure. what else are they likely to say ? , Well usually its the foreword in an article that goes on to slate him off (justly usually), so they dont have to say it at all if they didn't want to or think it to be true. cubaricho
No they're right, long may he continue ripping into the club and our new players No chance this will be picked up by the media or anything like that, as long as Ashley is one of those who reads it it's all good Never agreed with that btw. Started this argument before he made that Tweet. He clearly states on many occasions about not making enough quality signings - what are players like Cabaye supposed to think with those kinds of comments? If he didn't get a bumper contract at QPR he would've fallen out with the new players in a very short period of time I'd imagine, the only difference being they wouldn't have bitched about it on twitter. timeEd32
His first tweet is fine and even the second to some extent, though borderline. Commenting on new players is just completely uncalled for. Can't wait to stuff them in 2 weeks time.

FML How many goals did Barton set up and weren't most of them from free kicks which presumably others (Cabaye) can take from now on?

Guest
Some of that £59m covers a fair chunk of the £25m or whatever we spent on this bloke in fees & wages for 8 months work anyway. Nice.

Guest Brazilianbob
Joey Barton is perfectly entitled to voice his opinion, the last time I looked there was freedom of the press in this country and as such Joey is perfectly entitled to air his opinions as long as they are not libalous or slanderous.. In my view I believe he is the most qualified of all of us to comment on the actions of Ashley and Llambias because he knows them. We just have opinions formed from what we read in the press and their actions (or should that be their inaction).

Already buying into the "count all wages into the transfer budget" thing. Nice. You obviously bought into the 'all £35m will be reinvested thing', so what's the difference? Both were said by the club.
GuyP
Disappointed about what he said about Santon, as i rate him very highly and am elated by his signing, but facts are that he is unproven in comparison to Jose...we will see...
Guest
More caps than Barton, Nolan, Carroll and Jose put together and he's not even 21.
Kasper
More caps than Barton, Nolan, Carroll and Jose put together and he's not even 21. I dont see anything wrong with what Barton says about Santon. It's what everyone here is thinking or should be thinking instead of expecting him to be amazing straight away. "selling their assets and replacing with cheaper gambles. Santon?? 16 games since 2008, in a poor Italian league, hardly proven PL"
Guest
Except he's played about 50 games in that time.

Guest sicko2ndbest
I don't see what Barton has said wrong at all We are all delusional fools. He is asset stripping from under our noses and yet we still have hope Absolutely spot on imo
