Never has a striker scored so few goals & been rated so highly

Ashton - 275 games, 109 goals

Heskey - 603/138

Defoe - 365/155

Rooney - 333/126

Ibrahimovic - 370/166

His goal ratio stands up alright in that company.....NOTE I AM NOT SAYING HE IS IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS OTHERS QUOTED, merely pointing out goals/game ratio!

His ratio stands up, and I really rate the guy (when not injured!), but I think it's fair to say that's a rather deceptive stat due to him playing a decent proportion of his football at a lower level.

True about the lower standard but his game wasnt as much goalscorer like Defoe who isnt a kick in the arse off

I assume the bit in capitals doesnt apply to your eyes then? For gods sake it was only a comparison and not worthy of your sarcasm ;D

It's not a comparison though because the players you've listed have always been at the top level, unless Defoe's includes the ones he got for Bournemouth.

It would be like comparing Rob Earnshaw with Michael Owen.

Poor attempt at ruining a thread mind :thdn:

Have word man. You know what you posted was poor get over it.

As for Ashton I am sure WHU will be glad to have striker who has played so few games off there books. Be interesting to see how this pans out insurance wise because he has played in some games since that well known clogger SWP done him. It is going to get messy for WHU, Ashton, SWP,The FA  & one paper mentioned Chelsea as SWP was playing for them at the time.
