I'd be lying if I didn't think the same. Might bump into you during my Week Placement weeks!

When is yours? I think they'll be hiring again soon by the sounds of it. Eeverybody wants a bit of Newcastle atm so the demand is awesome tbh.

Hope so! I'd do it for free it they asked, just think it'd be a fantastic experience. Not sure when the work experience begins, I'd like to see the Long Term Player Development part of the Foundation, but in all honesty I'd do anything.

I think that's what they liked about me (without trying to sound big headed). I was on work experience which timed nicely with my job application which is why they waited to make a judgement.

I made sure i did as much as i could. I wasn't getting home some nights til 8pm. Hard work but great fun. If you do that they'll snap you up tbh.

I've been to 3 LTPD sessions and they're good. It's a good system and Andy Carroll went through that system, so it does work.

LTPD is something I'm interested in, and try to do even with my grassroot teams (keep log/journals on each team/training session/player). Really happy for you, man, well deserved and put the effort in.

I'm not taking it haha

I'm still a novice ;)

I'll be learning too. Apparently Neil is a fantastic coach. I'm still to see him do any coaching. He's a great laught though. There's two surprise guests there, or so i hear.

Youth module 1 doesn't deal specifically with coaching.  It provides you with an extremely basic understanding of a child's development.

Useful

Is there an assessment involved?

There is a practical element, but you cannot fail it.

If I remember correctly.

Aye, I aspire to be as good as Neil Winskill to be honest. Class at getting the session up and running, easy explanations, and fantastic banter. I think the two guests at Coaching the Coaches are Barney Jones and... someone else. Good website: http://www.nfpsoccer.co.uk/

Anything that'll help me coach younger age groups (U8s!) is welcomed. Ash came to see me train the U8s today, and he didn't like it.  U8s are not for Ash, I'm sure he'll be on later to tell us.

Is it like a small insight to Skill Acquisition?

Aye. I'm signed up. Some great drills on there.

Barney is a great coach too. Neil was in the youth team at Newcastle under Keegan and a good player apparently. Manages Ashington now. They use those drills of the website for your Level 2 and when it comes to the assessment i'll probably be using them

Level 2 starts next week, so if anyone else on here (I know Ash was thinking about it) is signed up for it, I'll see you guys along there! Can't wait personally, the challenge of stepping up has got me excited.
