Ronaldo
Spoke to my mate at Willie Hill. Almost £8K was placed on Jol between 8pm last night and noon today, that he's aware of.

hakka
In all seriousness, £8k doesn't sound a lot. Then again I'm not a person who places bets, I'm assuming it's not a lot?
Dave
http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/216166/Martin-Jol-rejects-cut-price-Toon/ MARTIN JOL REJECTS 'CUT-PRICE' TOON Wednesday December 8,2010 By Niall Hickman MARTIN JOL turned down the Newcastle job four years ago and looks set to do so again having seen Mike Ashley’s bizarre financial blueprint. Ashley will offer Chris Hughton’s successor a results-based contract – and next to nothing to spend. It is an offer Jol will almost certainly decline, especially if Hamburg offer him a return to football in Germany following his resignation from Ajax on Monday. With Ashley offering such meagre financial incentives, Alan Pardew, Glenn Hoddle and Alan Curbishley are in the frame as all three are desperate to make a return to management. Jol, having steered Spurs to fifth place two seasons running, would fit the bill, but just as he did when Graeme Souness was fired by then-chairman Freddy Shepherd, he is likely to decline any offer. Shepherd said: “When Souness left we wanted Jol to replace him. He was our top target, but we couldn’t get him out of Spurs.” Newcastle want a new boss by Friday. Ashley has been warned about demonstrations by fans at St James’ Park for Liverpool’s visit the following day. ...

Guest
As much as I hate the idea, Hoddle > Pardew.
Dave
The bit in bold is exactly what I'm trying to say in the other thread. The cunt might think he's innovating the game but as far as I can see he's just restricting the list of options to utter garbage. THEY'LL ACCEPT THOSE TERMS BECAUSE THEY'RE SHIT, DICKHEAD. lovejoy
I'd take hoddles fucking hand off at present tbh. I'd spunk at the thought of venables also. That's how bad pardew would be.
Dave
Is Venables not employed to various degrees by ITV, Sky and The Sun? You can rule that one out, we wouldn't match his current income.

BlueStar
Why the fuck would Hoddle come here? Based on his logic everyone associated with the club must have been the Third Reich in a former life.

How in the world would a journalist know the exact contract offer that Ashley made? He had a spy camera in Ashley's office? More tabloid nonsense that some over here are chosing to believe. Village Idiot
Hoodle's academy in Spain is starting to get some results, they even sort of own a 3rd division team now and have taken them to second in the table (he doesn't directly manage them, his academy supplies the players). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerez_Industrial_CF Pretty bizarre to see an Andalusian team made out almost entirely of English players. JH
There's no chance it'll be Curbishley - he left West Ham because of having cunts making decisions behind his back.
Bad Mongo
There's no chance it'll be Curbishley - he left West Ham because of having cunts making decisions behind his back. It will either be someone absolutely desperate to get back into management, or a spineless shitweasel with no integrity at all. Oh, and he'll also have to be cheap. Colocho
Blind optimism this - glad some of us knew Jol was never going to sign for us and work under Ashley.

Guest
This club needs to be sold Tbh would it surprise you if this is part of the aim? Prospective buyers might not be biting anymore because they think the club's going smoothly and he doesn't want to sell, so bang, there goes the manager, massive fan unrest, club back in turmoil, gets some attention back on people who might want to act as saviours and give him his money.
