Our defending was poor on all of their goals, but more than anything Ameobi. It hardly needs mentioning now because he's just so fucking rubbish that people almost applaud him when he does something normal under the adversity of being Shola Ameobi. Best, Ferguson, Enrique and Lua Lua all put decent balls into the area, with Best and Enrique in-particular crossing in absolutely beautiful. perfect crosses that just needed tap-ins. Where's Shola? On the edge of the box having a fucking picnic. I was embarrassed when Enrique and Best put those balls in and no one was there, it was absolutely pathetic. BlueStar Posted May 23, 2011 Share Posted May 23, 2011 When the ball was rolling out for a goal kick and even Kevin Nolan could have got to it before it went out if he'd actually put a bit of effort in, and there's Shola, strolling towards it until it trickles out of play. That's not a lack of talent, that's a lack of effort. Putting it out for a throw in under no pressure simply because he can't keep a hold of a ball for more than two touches without it getting away from him though, that's a lack of talent. Simpson's defending for the first goal was woeful, I have no idea what he was thinking. For the second, Colo's defending wasn't terrible, but it was very poor. For the third, Jose could have got that header and there's the small matter of why it they allowed three WBA players to be lining up at the far post to tap it in.
