Tooj
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-19214911 A black footballer has been awarded more than £68,000 after his dismissal by his club was ruled as unfair racial victimisation. Mark McCammon, 33, said Gillingham FC refused him treatment for an injury, docked his wages and fined him for not turning up during heavy snow. The striker claimed he and other black players at the club were treated differently from white players. Club chairman Paul Scally said they might appeal against the verdict. At the hearing, Mr McGammon said the club had tried to "frustrate him out" by refusing to pay private medical bills to help him regain his fitness following injury when he still had eight months left on his contract. He said he was instead offered the choice of undergoing the same operation on the NHS rather than privately, which was "completely out of character" for a Football League club, he said. He also claimed he and two other black players were ordered to come into the ground amid "treacherous", snowy driving conditions and were told their wages would be docked, while some white players were told they were not required. Mr Scally described Mr McGammon's allegations as being "made maliciously and without foundation".
ChrisJbarnes
This is my local team. Paul Scally is a proper arsehole of a man, but I'm really disappointed to hear about this.
leffe186
Wow. Genuinely surprised, despite Gillingham being rough as arseholes.

Lenny
This news came out last weekend. They're the "biggest" team near me, and my house mate supports them, he reckons McCammon is a massive arse hole as well. Always going on about how useless he was, and gave me the impression that McCammon was quite bitter about leaving so made the claim. Guessing it was obviously more than just that since he's won the case...

newsted
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_McCammon Mark Jason McCammon (born 7 August 1978 in Barnet, London) is an English-born Barbadian international football striker. He is also a very shit footballer. Doubt this'll last long
Dr. Nguyen Van Falk
Wow. Genuinely surprised, despite Gillingham being rough as arseholes. Aye, it is. Gillingham are my local team, live a stones throw away from the stadium. Can't repeat what I've heard for legal reasons but racism apparently runs rife through the club. Players being told they won't make it simply 'cos they're black etc...
