BrettNUFC
I don't imagine anyone here pores over every word other managers say. This sort of stuff is amusing as well. We're simply discussing his comments, no-one pores, trawls or dissects. He says stuff, it's very easy to get access to it, we talk about it because he's the manager of the club. It's hardly Wikileaks. If the interview was 5 minutes long and Pardew is negative for 30 seconds of it, be sure enough, we would be talking about that the 30 seconds and not the other 4 minutes 30 where he is generally positive. Foluwashola
He had to come up with a lot of excuses because he had us playing so shit for so long. His patter doesn't differ much from other managers, nor is there some secret agenda to transform our way of thinking. Results are the only language that matters. God, that sounds gay. But aye. You honestly don't think Ashley's been trying to lower expectations for years?
Interpolic
Even if he is trying to lower expectations, managers always play up or play down their chances as befits their position and their objectives. I mean, Wenger goes to Crystal Palace saying they're a good team and it'll be a hard game, even though he knows Arsenal are going to walk it. It's just such a non-issue, the amount of time wasted on it is unreal. Stop reacting to it then. Your input means nothing, there's no point in you chipping in now and then saying "stop talking about this". People can talk about what they fancy talking about. Nobody's arsed about whether you think it's worthy of conversation.
merlin
Can we stop comparing Pardew to Wenger and Laudrup just because they make excuses please? When Pardew win trophies and builds a style of play which the entire club from kids to the first team employ no matter what then you can talk. This - all you have to do is to ask yourself whether Arsenal or Swansea fans if they would swap their manager for Pardew - OR if WHU Charlton or Southampton fans would have him back - and if you tell yourself they would, you had better go and re-check with the Fairies at the bottom of your garden. Alternatively, you could see a specialist.......

Belfast Boy
"It is the first time we have lost Colo and looked more comfortable than when he's been out in the past. "That is a big boost for us as a group. "When you lose a player and you can't cope it affects everybody else. "We have proved we can cope without him and Cabaye and anybody because it is about the team. "It shows we are stronger in depth and that's good." "I think we've been in good form. "I said that before the Chelsea game. "It is very difficult to beat a team in top form like Chelsea were. "So all credit to the players, they've been fantastic." "This is the end of a difficult period for us because we have two games and it could put us in a great position if we get a win or draw Spurs. "It is an important game for our league position." "I think it was a reward for some of the good work that went on before where we didn't quite get the results we deserved. "We are in better shape than we have been given credit for. "There has been a lot more positive Press about our players who have been terrific." I don't see excuses, no downers about tiredness, it's all positive stuff about a result at Spurs and performances so far. Oh great, nothing can possibly go wrong at home to Norwich now! BrettNUFC
Many thought he wouldn't survive the 'difficult period', he's silenced them though, fair play to him. He’s one decent performance away from getting some credit.

Still needs a couple of good results in the next 4 to win back some hearts and minds.
Zippity
I heard Pardon't on the radio saying we'd been brilliant since the Everton game. That's 'brilliant', mind, not 'good in parts, abysmal in others'. He thinks we were 'brilliant' in the mackems game. Tells you all you need to know, really. He's full of sh.it. Cardiff beat Swansea at the weekend, does that now mean Cardiff are better than Swansea and embarrassed them? No, not at all. The 3-0 at home however was thoroughly embarrassing, losing to a 20 yard strike in closing stages isn't. Norwich/West Brom are the big games, i agree. This period of games from Everton away was tough though and i think the players and manager can keep their heads held high bar an embarrassing display tomorrow. Did well at Chelsea in europe with a world class squad but his league form wasn't great. He didn't impress me at all with WBA. Quite similar to Pardew in style, though Pardew seems to have more flexibility, RMD plays for a lot of 1-0's etc. Strange choice.

Well your friend clearly agrees with you that accepting a Newcastle loss is perfectly acceptable. Maybe i'm one of a few who wouldn't accept granting another team a win in order to get our manager sacked.

He impressed me when he was at West Brom, he brought a team up behind us with wages that were 10% of ours at the time and they played reasonable football.
