Guest
Look at all the empty seats for a LEAGUE match. That is like Villa Park and the Riverside at it's worst.

Dr Spectrum
I presume its about City. Looks to be maybe 35k or so there, probably our lowest attendance of the season. You know this is our 8th home game - 2(!) of those have kicked off at 3pm on a saturday. No suprise they were our 2 highest attendences of the season. It takes the piss really, last season we even had a game against Everton that kicked off at 10:15am. I really think we would sell a lot more season tickets if fans knew they would be able to get to games instead of having to shift their ticket at Sky's whim every other week. I wonder how many fans decided not to renew for this season after Sky forced us into a 10:15 kickoff against Everton last season to pander to the far east TV/betting market There are other minor reasons too but they won't really affect the hardcore fanbase - Football too direct, no prospects of glory, no SWP, hard to get a ticket on the day of the game on a whim, and for tonight at least, the weather. PS: No fans of any club who have spent any serious ammont of time at the business end of the leageues or have eever won anything could be considered the best...Surely that title belongs to the fans of the clubs down amonst the dead men who have never done anything and never will. We use all those excuses as well. Although in fairness, we too have played few Saturday matches and have not played any of the big clubs at home yet. Fortunately, they don't give out trophies for how full your ground is. And you are right, the best supporters are the saps who follow teams like Walsall, Colchester, Mansfield etc etc all around the country without a cat's chance in hell of glory. Oh, and slowly but surely, Sky are ruining football. 5.15 on a Saturday? What sort of stupid fucking time is that to play football?

Oh, and slowly but surely, Sky are ruining football. 5.15 on a Saturday? What sort of stupid fucking time is that to play football? The worst thing about the 5:15 games is that it destroys the day. You have to spend the day waiting for it and if you're with a family or not that keen on the ol' shandy its a load of shite. Not keen on the noon games either - It used to be for when the police want to kill the drink factor at local derbies - understandable - but when Sky do it, it must be shite for the away fans and for the home fans who have been out the night before and are battling a hangover. Midweek games are shite too, the time most people get home makes it hard for the out of towners and people with young kids. I don't think people would mind if it was only an occasional thing but how hard is it to fork over hundreds of quid for a season ticket for something that should be fun, but instead is going to take a serious effort to keep up with because of the whims of TV? And lets face it, most teams aren't good enough or cheap enough to make up for it in fair weather fans. Football 1863-1992 rip.gif

The timing of them is absolutely terrible, taking a chunk of the afternoon AND a chunk of the evening. I suppose for clubs who have their grounds in the city centre it is possibly not so bad as you can do the afternoon stuff, nip to the ground, then go straight out, but if you're not in that position it is a nightmare. I'm a bit worried that our FA cup game at Old Trafford might be the Sunday night 7pm one. That'd be the biggest kick in the teeth. You shouldnt have to worry about this type of shite. The thing I hate most about Sky is the fact that they act as if football didnt actually *exist* before 1992. They are slowly strangling the game. Guest Ridzuan
I dont know why,but it seems like every game Manchester City plays at home, there seems to be many empty seats.Of course there are other clubs like Villa and not to mention Boro, who is just the same but I think Manchester City has the biggest capacity among the other two clubs.I dont know why they decided to increase the capacity as you can see there are always empty seats in every home game. The attendences aren't that bad. The lowest ever attendance at the stadium (A few weeks back against Fulham) was higher than the capacity of Maine Road. Pathetic really.
Disco
I still don't know why grounds like Eastlands,Villa Park, Ewood, Riverside, SOS, and us on cup games don't fill from the front rather than let people sit all over the place at least then it gives the illusion that its full. Obv people would want to sit in season ticket seats but surely they can moved and accommodated elsewhere. This is especially apparant in our UEFA games where L7 is open when they are hoardes of empty seats in the gallowgate and leazes. My nomination for best fans is Rochdale - spend 30 odd years or somethin in basement league - never gone up or down.

Guest Rafa
What do the Liverpool fans think of the new takeover talk? Heard a few mad fukers actually saying they dont want it, and would ruin the club!!!! You're probably best off looking at some posts on 'ere: http://www.ynwa.tv/forum/index.php?showforum=1 but I think you may have to register. Just that there are so many views you can imagine! Or there is a post on here: http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?board=2.0 But it's mega long, although only the last few pages will be directly about the news over the past 2 days. Thing is tho, the ones saying they don't want it, are likely to be the ones moaning that we have to buy Pennant for 6 mill instead of Alves for 15 mill cos we don't have enough dosh Me personally, way I look at it - it's a case of having to get investment to get a new stadium and compete at the top, so I prefer this bid, to some of the mad fecers that have been bidding in the past. At least this company has a track record of success. But I dont like how football is going these days, its becoming more and more impersonal, and it's not good for the sport. brummie
If the people behind our takeover are anything to go by, I don't really see the problem with foreign takeovers. Although in our case, it is pretty hard to see how anyone could be worse than what we had before, what we've seen from the new board so far has been nothing short of excellent. What makes me laugh is whenever there is a foreign takeover, people start screaming stuff like "they want to build a casino!!!!" - like that's the best accusation they can come up with for "wrongdoing". And much as I admire Arsene Wenger for his legendary achievements, his comments about how English clubs should be English owned so they don't lose their identity are possibly the most hypocritical things I've ever heard - he doesn't seem too bothered about maintaining Arsenal's identity when they're fielding 11 foreigners. Rafa is right, though, it is all becoming about who has the deepest pockets. There's always been an element of that in football, but nowadays it is becoming the only thing that matters.
