Dwight Gayle (now playing for Hibernian)

Looked more lively but that header back post in the first half he should have scored imo. Wasn't a sitter but for someone who's supposed to be a finisher should be hitting the target (was off target before the block took it for a corner).

Dunno what game you lot watched, he barely done fuck all.

You're right, he did a canny bit.

He scored for one. Terrible decision from the linesman.

Didn't do much with Joselu on the pitch, and was absolutely pointless without him on the pitch. Oh and he had our only clear cut chance at goal and totally messed it up. If that had been Joselu, Mitrovic or Perez they would have been slaughtered. An unpopular opinion but Gayle is 3rd choice for me behind Mitrovic then Joselu. Just isn't a good enough player outside of the box.

To me he looks slightly offside. Could argue he's just on. Either way we don't make these decisions, refs do. And he had a great chance in the 6 yard box to make it null and void whether he was off or on, and he didn't take.

This for a poacher who does nothing else productive on the pitch, is not good enough imo.

But your criticism is that he didn't do anything, but he did because he scored a perfectly fine goal that should have stood.

Think the words I used was 'he didn't do much'. And he didn't. If he had scored we would have drew the match 1-1. The linesman decided he didn't score so he didn't. We don't make these decisions. Gayle had the chance to rectify it as I just said, and he failed to take it.

Doesn't work like that man.

If that goal counts, we shut up shop in the way Benitez does best and we see that game out.

That's not the way the world works
