Darlington looking doomed as well.

Aye, they've had a very miserable 2023. I knew they ended last season badly, but just having a look and they were 3rd on Feb 4th and just a point off top spot, but went on an awful run and ended up missing out on the playoffs. They ended the season with a record of 2W 7D 8L and this year it's 4W 7D 12L, so in their last 40 league games, 6W 14D 20L, 32 points. Must be shit to have hopes of making the National Premier (if they were allowed) to facing a return to the Northern Premier League in 10/11 months.

Great win indeed for Blyth, but it's going to shit a bit for South Shields, who were very near the top not too long ago, but now find themselves in 8th place and outside the extended playoffs. They've lost 4 on the trot, 3 of those at home, and 3 matches to sides who were near the relegation zone. Just 1 win and 4 points from their last 7 games since Nov 11th and out of the FA Trophy as well. I suspect the club being up for sale, and all the uncertainty that goes with it has played a big role there.

It's going even worse for Spennymoor in that period, they've also now lost 4 in a row, and only one point from their last 6 and also out of the FA Trophy. They are now nearer the relegation zone than the playoffs. South Shields aforementioned solitary win came against Spennymoor.

Julio Arca sacked.

I know he was a Pardewist and said shit about Ben Arfa but pleased Elliot is continuing Williamson's good work at Gateshead after a shaky start. Bookies still have them joint favourites with Barnet to go up through the Play-Offs behind Chesterfield.

We went to watch them yesterday. They play some smashing football but York clearly came for a point and couldn't believe their luck when they broke away to make it 1-0 after about half an hour. After that they just packed 11 men behind the ball which ruined the game as a spectacle with Gateshead struggling to break them down. Fairly certain Gateshead would have won 3 or 4-0 if they'd scored early on. Crowd of over 1,600 with 542 York fans there.

Let's hope the next appointment is made through common sense not how big a name it is. Everyone I know said the players have regressed under both managers, shambolic recently

@Stifler - did you get to talk in at Shields last night?

Aye. Load of shit.

They claimed that the money was never ring ended and they never said it was. Apparently Monster were putting up the money, but only if they stayed in the division.

Never entered their bank account apparently.

They had £3k from a go fund me for the ground improvements and paid that in wages. Apparently the postponed games is what did them, no income from matchday and still had to pay players.

Makes you wonder what budget they have now - northern alliance level?

They have literally no money left and apparently want 1,000 people coming in their next 2 games. They reckon they can be competitive with a £60k budget.

Absolutely criminal this mind. It amounts to theft. That mackem chairman they had should be strung up by the bollocks. He's milked £1000s out of that club over the years.

Spennymoor's interim manager Lewis Dickman has now left the club. Their away match at Chorley was abandoned today after 70 odd mins.

John Askey has left Hartlepool as well, so 5 of the 6 NE clubs at steps 1 and 2 have had a change of manager this week, and the other (Gateshead) has an interim manager.

I think with Gateshead it'd be hard to get a manager at that level to play the same way as Williamson, so going internal and giving Elliot the chance to continue things was the best way. He'll probably get it.
