JT24
I’d sell both Longstaff and Willock this summer. Fuck it. Summer of change.
Erikse
Generally I wonder how much sales really affects the budget? I don't think the club will maximize the amortization for the coming season with those money. Maybe it's something in between, like sell a player for £10m and then add £20m into the budget? The healthiest thing long term would generally be to not spend more than the money you get, but this is a pretty important window, and finishing higher can also generate so much more anyways. It just depends on how much of a gamble you would want to do for the near future.

Should always fall into the discussion around if you accept an offer for a player can you find a replacement who is better/younger/just as good/can you afford to replace them etc. Issue right now is who we are actively telling they can find a new club or actively promotion a player is available not sure Howe wants anyone to leave as seems like he often feels it's this group of lads that got us here so deserves our respect. Marrying that up with not becoming stale but not unresting the dynamic in the dressing room will be a hard but brutal nessesscity if we want to evolve and improve. Kimbo
My only concern with regards to letting him go would be the HG quota, but I would also be looking Krul and Forster to help that. It looks like we won’t be doing that. Ideally I would sell Longstaff and actually use our scouts to find a cheap young player that could develop into something good. And I would sell Willock to fund a proper 4th choice midfielder that we can rely on. Willock has 2 years left and Longstaff has one, if they don’t have a long term future then you sell now. It’s time to sell or give new contracts.
mighty__mag
Sell Longstaff, buy the Rudoni lad from Coventry for about the same cash, you've lost nothing, and gained something.

Is he even better than Longstaff? Doubt it.
JT24
Can’t Pedro also play CM? Emergency backup right there.
Sandrotastico
I'd move out anyone that's not top 4. So I'd move out Longstaff, Willock and a few others. i'd take anything over. 15m, thats the going rate for a mid table midfielder that does a job but nothing more or less. We need to move to the next level, this season is ahuge chance to do that. Edited 8 hours ago by Sandrotastico
Ellis H
What are people seeing about our recruitment speed to suggest we can just buy half a squad while also selling 3 or 4? Any chance of something like that happening went out the window with Mitchell leaving. It’s Championship Manager thinking. Dubravka Karius Dummett Hall Huntley Ndiweni Parkinson That was the bench away at PSG in 23/24 and we couldn’t even name enough players in the previous Dortmund game. Evidently buying players is often a long and complicated process. First you need to find the right replacement and the right profile, if you haven't already. Then you have to negotiate, which can be quite tedious as many clubs demand a high fee. You want to get both spot on. Every signing requires a lot of work. We will have to make some compromises. I would imagine a lot depends on contract situations. Both Longstaff and Willock are down to 1-2 years left, so it's whether we want to extend them or use that money to buy replacements with a higher ceiling.
