Mike Ashley (former owner) (still alive)

Recommended Posts

I think it’ll happen eventually. I just wish we could have some clarity of what stage we are at. Chronicle over last couple days saying PL test not started and mirror saying they havnt even presented proof of funds. Also they are consistent in saying there are other bidders. Just wish they’d come out and tell us where we are at

The thing is I highly doubt any journos or any club staff have any clue what stage its at. Only Ashley, the law firms and the proposed new owners, and possibly the Premier league will know.

As many have said I highly doubt they'd have made those public statements if they didnt believe them to be true.

Heres how it works , Ashley sees the abortive bid for Liverpool makes a mental note and when the time is right he signals a willingness to talk to Sheikh Thingymuhjig knowing full well they are timewasters ... drags the whole thing out over another close season , lets Rafas contract run out and shortly before the season starts appoints another yesman as manager and complains about said tyrekickers /time wasters not being serious ...

If Ashley’s ultimate goal is to get rid of Rafa, he doesn’t have to stage any fakeover. He just needs to let Rafa’s contract expire. The only reason to stage a fakeover would be to get the hopes of fans up before dashing them just as the season begins.

But he does if the conn is indeed the intention here ... it buys him all of June and most of July to get in a replacement who is happy to spend 'all of the money the club generates' plus a loanee or two to keep the fans onside.

In short it is just possible and I stress the JUST that another 90mill quid in the back pocket that bought Debenhams last year is his goal and who knows that is surely ... worth putting 5 mill in a Sheiks back pocket to play along to his merry tune  :shifty:

All conjecture but getting into the mind of a psychopath driven purely by profit is interesting stuff

And you honestly think that and that a multi-billion pound company headed by royalty would play along with that, really?  :idiot2: :idiot2:

The fans will be upset and pissed off if Rafa leaves yes? So what your suggesting is Ashley concocts a plan to get the fan base even more rilled up and pissed off (when takeover fails) and then let Rafa’s contract run out. If you believe that your either seriously dense or a total fruitcake

Why not just say no one has bid? And appoint who he wants when rafas contract runs out.

He knows he'll face barely any reaction regardless. What you're saying makes no sense. He doesn't need to go through that trouble as it doesn't help him in any way.

Honestly wonder how daft people need to be to think it’s all a set up just to get rid of Rafa. It’s fuckin mental

Thinking about it logically and not like a mental case. Rafa met with Ashley. He’s been given an offer and Rafa is waiting it out to see what happens with takeover. If by the last week of June there’s no positive news on the takeover Rafa will give his decision wether he’s staying or going. By all accounts he’s still doing work behind the scenes and doesn’t have to decide till end of June.

A conspiracy ffs  :idiot2:

Don't honestly think what was posted is at all true but it's interesting as it is a forum to play around with conjecture in the absence of the truth being clear. He may have the very best for Newcastle United at heart as he said in his tv interview on Sky  :hmm:

The one thing I'm hung up on is the statement from BZG. That either proves they're buying the club or are total bullshit merchants. There is no in between. Their statement had no room for ambiguity, so if they're a proper organisation then that's where I believe things stand. If they've issued that statement and are not at the stage they said they are then we're fucked anyway more than likely.

I agree but they’ve started a uk holding company and I’m sure the PL said they had received the head of terms. Seems a lot of work to put in just to be bullshitters

Seems like most peoples attention is taken by the takeover as opposed to Rafas contract ... job done .

Can't understand some people on here. When there is no news, they become anxious and nervous and start bedwetting by having bad feelings about this and that.

Yet when BZG publicly release statements, they don't like that either coz supposedly takeovers should be some kind of military operations used by the USSR that is done secretly.and only known when the mission is accomplished.

Add the setting up of the company also which is another key thing. This group is not bullshit and they're trying to buy the club. If you follow the reported timeline of the group from when they proof of funds were sent to Ashley, assisting the Premier League with the 'fit and proper testing' to the setting up of the company the other day, then it seems to be following a logical process. Think we will hear more this week and would not be surprised if everything is announced either.

Many conflicting reports about BZG which has cast doubt into their credentials.

I see many reports of them signing MOU’s for billions. One of note was in India. They like to have their fingers in lots of different pies it would seem. Infrastructure, construction, telecoms etc.

I can’t see them buying this club without a plan to drive it forward.

But there is no way they wound be spending big money with a top firm like Pinsent Masons if they were tyre kickers.

Every one of us wakes up each day now hoping for news but it could take weeks. I’d like to see Rafas situation get sorted first.
