£50?

Bet you're making is that he never manages one of Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, or Spurs.

When is the cut off date?

I could be waiting 25 years to be proven right here [emoji38]

No, I want Newcastle to be successful and the way I see that happening, sooner rather than later, is with Howe.

He's already been successful here,  so I'm surprised there isn't more support around here for him.  People either have short memories or have taken what he has done for granted.

We won't be going nowhere fast with a de Zerbi, Southgate, coming through the door.  Would set us back literally years.

Just like Spurs and Poch.

Who has mentioned either of those 2 as potential NUFC managers like

When you look at some of the appointments "the big six" has made of late, Howe has far more pedigree.

Even if you accept Liverpool is a stretch (personally I don't think it is), Man United, Chelsea and Spurs would likely all be interested.

Chelsea’s appointments under Boehly are just wild so I think we can rule them out.

Spurs would take him

Fans don't get to choose the appointment.

What makes you think they won't be considered?  This is why the whole idea is insane to me.  Total unknown.

That wasn't the point being made.  In terms of stature and resources at their disposal though, it'd be a big step up.

I think the point was basically Howe is an elite manager and we would regret letting him go.

I disagree but ultimately it’s a really pointless discussion as it comes down to personal opinion, conjecture and know one has a clue what is going to happen and what other clubs think.

Just can't see it, not at this point in his career anyway. One of his biggest complaints this season has been the lack of time on the training ground. He wouldn't get that at England.

Later in his career I'd imagine. Once he's won the treble with Liverpool...

We aren't going to entertain Gareth Southgate as our next manager man. Howay be sensible here.

Considering it's not your decision to make, why are you so sure.

Daft appointments are made all the time.

£50 seems fine then. By the time one of us is proved right it'll be like a tenner with inflation.

I feel we need a timescale here, either in years or by job. I don't think he manages any of the big 5 (I'm not involving Spurs here) within either his next 3 jobs or the next 5 years after he leaves NUFC.

England is far more likely for Howe and I'd imagine he'd be the one to break the curse.

See NUFC 2025 and the plethora of English players we've had and improved and got a tune out of. Don't have players fucking off for a more fanciable country either.

Great shout England. Would actually actively watch them and want them to win if Howe was the manager.

Unsure he is suited to it mind, given his hands on nature.

Because he hasn't managed at club level for nearly 20 years and that ended in relegation. You're just being silly now [emoji38]

I get your point on Poch but don't think it's best example, after Poch left they finished in Europe the following 3 seasons, they also won the Europa League last year, their issue has been more at board level tbf which was what happened between Poch and Levy.

You did say never tbf.

Spurs need to be included as well because imo at that point he'd have them up there challenging. Include Spurs and I'll agree to the next 3 jobs thing.

I don't think you get the point.

You have no control who we appoint.

Spurs appointed Tudor just a few months ago, and Chelsea have Rosenior steering the ship.  Bad appointments, which aren't what the fans want or expect, are not unusual.

I think he could go to Spurs. I mean they could be a Championship club in a few weeks time for starters. They don't deserve to be grouped in with the Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool. If he went from us to Spurs that's a step down.

Howe will be at Barca in 5 years with Lewis Hall playing as a 10 and winning multiple cups.

There's more chance of me growing a second arsehole than there is Howe playing a #10

We won't appoint Southgate next man. Come on ffs [emoji38] Rosenior was an appointment of convenience with the ownership situation. He'll be gone in the summer. Tudor was a strange one but he'd managed big clubs before Spurs, Galatasaray, Marseille, Lazio and Juventus, albeit with little success.

Okay, if I agree that Spurs have to already be a PL team when it happens.

If not no bet, he'd get them up to that level imo so they're just as relevant.

I doubt he wants to set eyes on Barcelona ever again after what happened the other week!

They have been on a death spiral since Poch.  Probably be relegated this year.
