Will only go the other way but get it back to 16. Its supposed to be an achievement to qualify.  Presently its a shoot-out between 3rd and 4th rate teams to see who makes up the numbers and a procession for the usual qualifiers making the disruption to club football even more of a pain in the erse.

Latvia qualified for a 16 team tournament. Greece won a 16 team tournament and Denmark and even more exclusive one than that.

Add to the fact there are only 55 national teams in Europe then even 24 is diluting the quality.

Saying that I would rather go 8 groups of 4 and at least make it only two teams to go through. At least teams would have to then try in the group stage and not just hope for one win to get through

Aye almost all of her videos are absolute quality. One of the few true football "journalists" out there these days.

She's absolutely brilliant, like. Only 23 too. Put her against the likes of Micah Richards or Karen Carney, man. They couldn't hold a flame.

It does make the group stage worse as there are some no hopers who don’t give competitive games (Scotland) and as the jeopardy of going out is reduced by the 3rd place slots.

Means the best teams only meet in the quarters /some 2nd round games rather than in the groups

Very much encourages playing for draws in the groups as well.

The setup definitely didn't suit Kane but rather than adjusting as a senior leader of the side to help others out he just seemed to go walkabout loads making everything worse by getting in others' space. And then when we were in decent positions around the box, he was miles away from where he needed to be half the time. He reminded me of latter years Rooney.

Tbf, in that first game when he was told to stay up front (against Milenkovic which was a fucking stupid idea, but I digress) he was even less effective and hardly touched the ball. Because the set-up was atrocious.

Southgate fucked it. After the pre-tournament games I was really excited about Kane, Gordon and Saka but it never happened. We saw about threee minutes of Kane, Gordon and Palmer and it looked mint. He kept trying to make Foden-Kane-Bellingham work and it never did - he was still trying in the first half of the final. Fuck. If he’d have started with Watkins it would have made sense on multiple levels. That classic England manager combo of cowardice and obstinacy.

Tbf I think trying Foden-Bellingham-Saka was reasonable, but it was clear in the first game it wasn’t going to fly

Saka didn’t have a particularly good tournament either, despite having Walker behind him and playing in his natural position, but as he’s an Arsenal player he gets an easy ride in the press.

Saka had a good tournament in relation to most English players and in spite of having walker (who was atrocious the whole tournament) behind him.  He also had a cf who didn’t run, sprint, move or jump ahead of him
