Guest nufc1984
TEAM NEWS NICKY Butt was denied a reunion with former club Manchester United after failing a late fitness test on a swollen left ankle. It meant yet more injury woe for Glenn Roeder at the start of the new year as his Newcastle United side played host to the Premiership leaders. David Edgar was also drafted in at left-back for only his second senior appearance with Peter Ramage (hamstring) the latest absentee from a depleted defence. In goal, Shay Given was making his 400th appearance for Newcastle - only the ninth player in the club's history to reach that milestone.
chicago_shearer
I'd rather not have Butt playing against Man Utd anyway.

Dokko
Get bummed because our strikers can't defend. I reckon a draw, 1-1. Just think Manu will slip up very soon with a 6pt lead. Hopefully it will be us. If not and we lose, i hope they go on to win the title. Knew we had a draw in us. Good work lads, two good goals, great start to the New Year.
