If he believes an entirely fictitious magic sky man from an ancient fairytale has told him to deny actual, real human beings their fundamental rights then yes, he can and absolutely should be judged on this. In my opinion it reflects poorly on him as a human being on several levels, and whilst he's free to have his opinions, I'm equally free to judge him on them. In return, of course you're all free to judge me on that. DiddyLevine Posted yesterday at 17:12 Share Posted yesterday at 17:12 Worth noting the FA are quite selective in these things . How come they havent issued Palestinian flag armbands ? Is that one not allowed ?

Kid Icarus Posted yesterday at 17:12 Share Posted yesterday at 17:12 (edited) May I interest you all in Frontline: The Culture War thread in chat? Discuss questions such as: cancel culture, gone too far? Do you criticise yet choose to live in a society? Is it okay for ambulances to be gay? Grifters or philosophers? If we criticise Ricky Gervais for not being funny anymore and everyone's there to hear him, is he still being oppressed? So maybe he doesn't want to deny anyone any rights at all, I don't know. But my point stands that everyone has the right to judge the actions of everyone else, that's the consequence of using your right to free speech to say it do something negative. Well, I don't judge people for having different opinions/beliefs. I think you're probably extremely indoctrinated that you believe in the big bang, but I wouldn't judge you for it, even if it sounds so far fetched

Jaqen Posted yesterday at 17:16 Share Posted yesterday at 17:16 11 minutes ago, Memphis said: Here are you referring to his own hypocrisy? I can't take someone seriously claiming to be a serious zealot who cannot compromise their beliefs when that same person has endorsed other sinful behavior without incident for years. That then removes the idea of strictly "religious opposition" allowing you to write 'I love Jesus' on the armband - knowing full well why you're choosing to call attention to your unwillingness to just wear the armband as is. Either you are a devout Christian who cannot countenance wearing anything that would endorse sinful behavior, or you are a hypocrite and a homophobe because you're OK with gambling but somehow not OK with endorsing the idea that gay people should be allowed to play sport without being bullied or threatened. Not being funny but our own fans spent years saying it was impossible to 'support the team without directly supporting the regime' and highlighting Mike Ashley's dodgy business practices and treatment of sports direct staff etc. Only to say it doesn't matter that our now owners literally execute people for being gay as you can support the team without supporting the regime If the Suadis ran us like Ashley people would have a problem with the fact we are a sportswashing operation for some of the most evil people in existence and suddenly that would all be highlighted but whilst they're pumping in all the money they can, making stadium plans etc nobody cares. Taking the moral high ground over what Guehi has done and calling him a hypocrite seems a bit daft in our position.

The difference here is that none of our fans - to my knowledge - are claiming some sort of religious exemption to avoid supporting the team or regime or whatever. Bringing the religious aspect into this is where I am struggling. You are right that we are all hypocrites to a degree, though.

Well, I believe the bible, that God created us and not a completely random event that created a whole system which worked in perfect tandem, and a body that can heal itself and have stuff like emotion and such like. I believe in a creator, you believe in a complete fluke by the looks of things, but that's fine.
