TomYam Posted Sunday at 14:06 Share Posted Sunday at 14:06 Very sad to hear that Alan Shoulder has died. He was only 71. I remember seeing him in his debut for us against Stoke in December 1978 when I was a youngster. His partnership with Peter Withe was outstanding (for the short while Withe was with us). R.I.P Alan. Scoreboard82 Posted Sunday at 14:15 Share Posted Sunday at 14:15 Ah man. This weekend just gets worse. Happy memories of Alan. Penalty king. Good little striker who helped win that fantastic derby game on NYD 1980. Can still hear the crowd singing "We all agree...Alan Shoulder is magic". Seen him in a talk in a few years back and was very entertaining then too.

Tsunami Posted Sunday at 14:38 Share Posted Sunday at 14:38 RIP Alan. Him and Withe were a shining light in what was a pretty awful team.
Benwell Lad Posted Sunday at 14:57 Share Posted Sunday at 14:57 (edited) Definitely a footballer who fell into the category of "no airs and graces" as you'd expect from someone who worked in coal mines and came up through non league. A great character and definitely "one of the lads". RIP Alan Shoulder. Edited Sunday at 14:58 by Benwell Lad
