I thought we were hanging on a bit leading up to half time, although they weren't producing clear cut chances

FWIW I thought our defending was class...which it has been all season. Trips never really gave Rashford much while he was out wide, and we always seemed to have someone in there to cut out the last man before Schar's injury.

Our game plan was solid, we just lacked a striker who could have put one away when we got those chances in the first half.

Wouldn't argue with that, and Trips did handle Rashford well. Sometimes high emotion during these big games can affect your judgement, but by 35 onwards I thought they had got a handle on it after our customary frenzied start where we failed to score, and a sense of unease was creeping in a bit. I was looking for the half time whistle. As has been well documented, the 2nd half turned on the unfortunate Fab copping a rocket to the napper. Overall I felt we gave them a good game

Agree. We had a good go at Barca, and I think we weren't far off getting a good result if we'd had someone up front who could capitalise on those early chances. But at the same time, the longer the game went on, you could see the gap widening as their players started passing around our press. It's nowt to be ashamed of, their first team is probably worth twice as much as ours. What I took from it was this is the direction we need to go. Quality counts in the end.

After yesterday's win, Barca are now averaging 2.7 xG in their five La Liga games, which with good strikers means 3+ goals a game (they've scored 16 in the five games). That's way higher chance creation and goalscoring than anyone in our league. We did well to limit them to the opportunities we gave them, and its a shame we could not take our own.
