The away fans need moving to pitch level, that would immediately improve the atmosphere.

Where would you put them? I know they used to be in the Leazes NE corner before the expansion. Would seem weird having them anywhere in the lower bowl.

Even just bringing back the old Leazes corner would be sound imo.

A new ground does allow for like minded folk who want to make some (positive) noise to be all sat together though. Foolish to think that it wouldn't improve the atmosphere if we had a designated end behind one of the goals for the more vocal fans instead of them all being dotted around in small groups as they currently are.

I think the problem is that everyone regardless of how they sing, will want to be sat there. The only 2/3 reasons why someone say in the East stand won’t sit in that area would be price, safe standing (if they are older), and the fact that they don’t sit along the pitch and see behind 1 goal. If those aren’t factors in them, then they will all choose to sit there to claim that they are part of the noise.

Even if he is one, construction lawyers rarely get involved at that stage in the UK tbf - even on larger scale projects.

But most documents at that stage would be treated as commercial in confidence; and there would be zero reason to show them to a random who happened to be a lawyer.

Unless he has a pal in one of the design team’s offices who likes sharing stuff - an architect, engineer or QS - then the odds are he’s talking out of his backside.

He is easily found on LinkedIn. He works for a major house builder and does not appear to be a solicitor.

The club have made a bit of an issue about last week being the deadline to sign up to be a Mags+ member for this season. With games running out, many would think that they are going to announce a product that can only be bought by Mag+ members or have a period of exclusivity to buy it. I do wonder though if they are going to only consult season ticket holders and Mag+ members in regards to the stadium?

I think it’s more likely related to potential cup final tickets

They won’t get past season ticket holders mate.

They did last time. Obviously there was a bit of uproar about how they went about, and no doubt there will be again, however they decide to do it.

If I remember correctly the allocation is slightly more than (what we believe to be) the number of ST holders, and that’s without considering that not every single ST holder would apply.

Be proper shan as fuck if Mags+ gets priority for anything other than what’s already advertised for Mags+

If there’s a new benefit being added that relates to ticket access then the club need to tell punters that so everyone can make an informed choice on whereby to upgrade vs a standard membership

Aye, you’re probably right. It wouldn’t really be on to suddenly make Mags+ a requirement in relation to getting tickets when that wasn’t advertised as such.

However, they can’t really be letting people buy a membership next week and have the same chance as someone who’s had one all season.

Anyway, let’s just hope this is all still a discussion topic come Thursday morning 🤞

I believe i said it on here weeks ago that this was the reason for the deadline. Mag+ is advertised as priority ticket access to special events. I’d argue a Cup Final would fall under that description.

If someone who’s only just signed up for Mags+ membership got cup final ticket priority over a standard member who’s been signed up all season and applied for tickets for every game that’d be obscenely shan

If that happens I’ll sue the club

Yes that's possible. I know ow a few lads in the SE Corner and they reckon that's becoming a problem in there, people wanting to be amongst it but not contributing to it.

Even so, though a 25k stand behind a goal with 15k or so of them chanting and really getting behind the team has to be much better than the current set up in the Gallowgate where hardly anyone contributes. The middle tier especially, sucks the life out of the stand.

No perfect formula. You had your chance to upgrade. They publicised the cut off point a few times.

Might be absolutely nothing in it but if you are going to waste £10 this year I’d of recommended this was what to waste in on just in case.

My other thought is the offer of Season Tickets in future for new ground and this season is the historical cut off point that they include in the criteria.

What the club membership page says about events is:

Priority ticket window for St. James' Park Events

I take that to mean non-football events e.g. members did get priority on Fender tickets

And that priority offer is the same for both Mags & Mags+

I doubt Mags plus gets cup final ticket benefits. (Selfishly I hope it does, cos I am one. I paid the tenner from the start just in case there was something, was more thinking about STs - never thought likely though )

They should just say that when they advertise then.

If that was the case they should be transparent that the extra tenner gets you on a ST waiting list, if we ever create such a thing

You can’t set up a tiered membership scheme and not disclose that the upper tier has an enormous but hidden benefit that would massively influence people’s decision on what tier to buy

It’d be the shannest thing ever in the history of all the shan things there’s ever been ever

Like I say there’s maybe nothing in it and it’s £10 wasted.

Why do you think they had a cut off point for the Mags+ and not standard memberships?

Whatever measures are used tend to be unadvertised. E.g. nobody knew for a fact two years ago that going to Bournemouth home or Tranmere away in the cup was a way to increase your chance of a final ticket. I assume if and when STs open up they will use something, and that something won't have been previously stated. Even if they use ANY previous membership (plus and regular) that will have been unadvertised. Not saying it's fair, and I doubt plus membership *will* be used for ST or cup finals, but I thought it was worth paying the tenner just in case.

Not sure, based on what’s been communicated (basically nowt) it doesn’t make any sense to cut off one but not the other

Maybe not enough people were buying Mags+ so to increase take up they put a deadline on it and allow rumours to circulate about Mags+ getting you secret cheat codes for ST’s and cup final tickets

Hey presto, loads of people sign up
