Baggio
Blackburn Rovers - David Bentley McCarthy gets the goals, but he is helped by the second best winger combo in the Premiership , of which Bentley is the best of the two. Name another that is not Giggs/Ronaldo, based on last season's form, that were better than Bentley/Gamst Why only last season? Was that when the PL was formed or something? Ah ok, i suppose we might aswell throw Gillespie and Ginola into the mix, then. So him saying they are the second best combo in the Prem and then asking me to name a better pair of wingers other than Giggs/Ronaldo only going from last seasons apperances makes sense to you? Ok! Erm, well yeah! This thread isn't based on all-time Premiership stats, it's on about the present, like he says. So how can Given be classed as our best player then? Shouldn't it be Nicky Butt? Guest Mixon
Newcastle - Matty Pattison. TBH
Dr. Nguyen Van Falk
Since you found the comment so laughable, can you come up with 5 clubs who have two better wingers? Why 5? That would then put them in 6th place which is a long stretch from 2nd, 'specially when you consider that a few of the top teams in this league don't play with wingers. Anyway; Chelsea - Robben and Cole Man U - Giggs and Ronaldo Tottenham - Lennon and Malbranque That would put them in 4th which is about right as the teams who finished abover them with don't play wingers or have poorer wingers but better CM's than Blackburn. And I rate Bentley and MGP, but to say they are the 2nd best pairing in the PL is ridiculous. Edit: And some would argue that Mendes/Taylor and Benayoun/Boa Moarte are better, and also the fact that I've already said about the full backs... Guest Pie
I visited the Blackburn site earlier in the season (the day we played them) and a fair proportion of the fans wanted MGP dropped. He scored a belter and had a decent game. Story of an inconsistent wingers life really.

papo
Reading-Doyle I can see where you and others are getting at with Doyle, but I think Shorey shaded it due to the fact that he didn't fade away in the second half of the season. However football is all opinions. ye but without his goals Reading wouldn't be in a good position like this

kingxlnc
Newcastle's best player is Martins - in terms of sheer raw potential - plus the player we could command the highest fee for. That said - the thread was best player for each club, not player who has potential who could flog for a good amount... For the record, Chelsea's best player is Ballack. Portsmouth - Sol Campbell. Everton - Yobo / Arteta - Arteta shades it for me.
