Probably collapse the whole of SJP
  5. surprised he didn't sign for us with a record like that
  6. Larsen at 35 is old for a PL striker, very old in fact and he can't be in PL shape playing in Sweden - especially as they've been on winter break since the start of November This makes no sense at all IMHO - unless he intends to play him against the dross (like us) to give his "stars" 20 -30 minutes off after a game has been won
  7. fter 15 games the total points for the top 2 clubs:- 1992-93 = 56 1998-99 = 59 2004-2005 = 67 2005-2006 = 70 2006-2007 = 73 Its that bugger Morinho bluesigh.gif bluesigh.gif bluesigh.gif
  8. reckon "Sir" John Madjeski will buy anyone in january Kevin? ANd if so who?
  9. what he gives us is decent distribution out of defence - something we haven't had since Woodgate left The rest of them generally just belt it high up front

Watching it on TV I thought it was the best supported team (and certainly the noisiest) we've seen in Europe in a long time pity about the (non) strikers on both teams mind good game
  11. Looks very good indeed - I guess he'd have trouble with a really quick winger but his skill and experience really seems to anchor the defence he is also good at talking to the others and when he does break out he is capable of serious attacking and can PASS the ball, not just wellie it up field If he moves permanently to full back he could play another 5 years I guess
  12. ManUre of course The Rabble - tho its really hard to get worked up about them after recent events Dirty Leeds I've never had any trouble at Liverpool, Everton, Villa or Arsenal Don't like Chelski or Spurs Anything north of the border is totally irrelevant in any universe
  13. You've taken away my last hope........................ bluecry.gif bluecry.gif bluecry.gif bluecry.gif
  14. I can't see it myself but you have to say they have come up, playing attractive football (not the Wigan/Bolton kick-um style) and are doing very well They were hammered apparently by Arsenal but otherwise they gave Liverpool a couple of hard games and weren't disgraced against Chelski - could be a very good game at SJP TBH
  15. "after the way we played on Sunday, there should be no way on Earth we'll play as badly again with that pace in the side." Oh ye of little faith - I'm sure we can play just as badly............................
  16. well if we're not going to cheer T****** it could be quite quiet at SJP most games TBH Come on, he did his damndest for us, scored a shed load of goals and so - he never became popular so what? 52,000 people would give their eldest child to get someone on the team with half his goal scoring record right now
  17. Hmmmm - we SHOULD beat Reading but they've played well in almost all their games - and they are miles ahead of us on goals scored.............................
  18. If reading win their game in hand they could go THIRD blueeek.gif blueeek.gif blueeek.gif blueeek.gif
  19. The greatest goal scorer we ever had - and never really liked at all compare him with Sir Les - a man who will never have to buy a drink on tyneside ever again ANyway - he did great things for us and has a fantastic record overall so he deserves a standing ovation
  20. its me age but I've seen so many bad starts to the season I don't panic like you lot - but this season looks quite unpleasant
  21. Bolton, Portsmouth and Reading in the top 7 after 14 games................. I wonder what odds you 'd have got down at Joe Coral's on that back in August???
  22. Even if we win today and Blackburn lose we only go up one place - then there is another big gap to the teams on 16 points bluebigeek.gif bluebigeek.gif bluebigeek.gif Even if we had a 3-4 match winning streak we'd only be mid table I am getting worried
  23. Everyone agreed we'd got the toughest YUFA Group but so far we're sailing along If you were watching the results in Yurop you'd think we were a bloody great side wouldn't you.............................. bluebiggrin.gif bluebiggrin.gif bluebiggrin.gif bluebiggrin.gif
  24. Aye, me Dad often goes on about Jimmy Scoular. Nails he reckons, good player too. he was a great player - but tough as hell Once saw two Div 3 players try and take him out in a Cup Game - BIG error - they just bounced
