I once saw a back line of Bob Stokoe, Bill Thompson and Jimmie Scoular (and Dave Keith - who was a cultured player....) THAT was truly frightening........................ Scoular was the hardest man I've ever seen on a pitch - not dirty - he didn't need to be

In my time:- Woodgate Albert Moncur and the People's Favourite John McNamee - who can forget him hitting Jimmie Montgomery into the net to score at the Gallowgate End? These days they'd have done him for Attempted Murder

Firing Roeder won't change owt is what I mean That's quite clearly cobblers. If Alkmaar ditched Van Gaal and just provided the next bloke with similar funds, you think they'd perform the same. Ditto Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal. The quality of the manager is paramount in all of these clubs' successes. Arsenal, ManU and Liverpool were all sucessful before their current managers And Chelski prove my point - ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ = winners

Shearer has never managed a kids team never mind a PL team How many top class managers were great players?? Wenger? Mourinho?? Mad Alex? RAFA?
-
There is absolutley no statistical evidence that changing a manager changes the results long term The real correlation is between £££££££££ spent and points gained

Health and Safety has come a long way since Hillsbro' - they would go MAD at the idea................

I can see the orcs and the other unmentionables from the S of S*** rearing their ugly heads again if they get back into the PL it's been a very welcome period of total peace & quiet after their spectacular crash & burn a couple of seasons back but like weeds they are difficult to remove entirely....... tehre may even be younger members who have not come across a Mackem in full delusional mode...................... :idiot2:

Warm-up event for Wembley delayed Wembley officials insist this year's FA Cup final on 19 May will still take place at the new stadium, despite a delay to a planned warm-up event. A community day was set for 3 March and was designed to be one of two 'ramp-up' events staged in order to fulfil a stadium safety requirement. It has now been rescheduled for 17 March, which means the 11 March England women's game with Holland may be moved. "We remain on track to host the FA Cup final," said Wembley chief Alex Horne. Up to 60,000 people from Wembley's surrounding borough of Brent are expected to be in attendance at the community event to look at the new venue. If the local council agree to give the stadium a provisional safety certificate then there could be a warm-up event, such as an England Under-21 match, scheduled for the following week. Only after the match has taken place will Wembley receive a general stadium safety certificate. "The Football Association will only announce the 2007 Cup final at Wembley once the stadium has been granted its general safety certificate," added Wembley managing director Horne. "We are on course to go through the necessary testing procedures in order to get the certificate. I'd like to thank Brent council for being understanding and helpful as we look to start that formal process." Horne added: "Community Day is the first step towards gaining the certificate. "Ramp-up events have always had to remain flexible in terms of a date because of the complex nature of the project, hence the change."

Is anyone big enough to make up for making any club and its supporters a laughing stock?
-
As it is said in GOAL!: The name on the front of the shirt is a hell of a lot more important than the name on the back. too damn right.................... I support N Rock till I die
-
Supporting a club is more than trophies on the shelf FFS Why else do we watch NUFC??? Are we REALLY willing to put up with ANYTHING as long as we win sommat??? Craig Bellamy is the antithesis of the great players - Milburn, White, Scoular. Alchurch, Pedro, Sir Les, Shearer, Givven etc etc that have graced SJP If you want to watch thugs in a club that honours thugs go to Millwall or Leeds

Understand it was designed to be easily expandable up to about 44,000 and he's applied to put a second tier on one side to take it to 32,000 Lots of £££££££ in Reading and bugger all to spend it on TBH Of course they also get 8000 -20000 every other week from London Irish - and it only cost him £ 10 for the land...................
