there was sommat on the radio a few years back - some local Sheffield businessmen went to Chengdu and set of a set of exchanges of kids, students, sports teams as a consequence of their knowing the locals guess it all came from that
-
England would have given their eye teeth for Shearer in the last world cup he could actually score goals at the top international level as opposed to that muppet Rooney
-
owt has to be better than "we are the Champions"
-
Today's Tiems has a list of last years Window expenditures andd how much better teams did in teh second half of the season absolutely no correlation between spending and improvement - in fact 4 of the top 8 improvers spent nowt

Ramage or Bramble? Ramage wins hands down every time IMHO
-
Sams been at the metal Polish early this Christmas Beckham wouldn't drive through Bolton FFS and since I don't think he wants a divorce he's unlikely to come back to the UK to anyone other than Chelsea - he is a BRAND and so is his Mrs and Brands don't go downmarket to Spurrs, Bolton, Rangers or whatever He doesn't need to work, he can make a living out of his advertising for a while I can see the States as perfect - his Mrs wouldn't get the meeja flak there either
-
idiot - what has "the Saints" to do with us? Geordies or Toon Army is good enough - I'll even smile at Barcodes or Skunkers but to be thought to be trying to steal Southamptons name FFS..................................

Someone on 5Live was saying he was sitting next to the dugout on Wednesday and Shevtenko was brilliant - he signed every programme and autograph book that was passed to him from the crowd Nice to see someone who remembers who pays his wages
-
considering the raosting that Chelski have handed out to defences stuffed with full, top class internationals our cut & paste defence has played pretty well teh youngsters have come out of it OK and what's more importnat they will have learnt a great deal
-
aye - probably a good buy for what we paid but againsy Chelski you are in a different league he did quite well at the Bridge but without Owen I doubt we'll ever beat them
-
I was at both games and they were almost identical we're one of the few teams to actually cause them problems but at the end of the day we can't defend against a top class striker at the top of his form and we lack the pentration to threaten for long periods sad but fair
-
you can remove the last 3 words of the second sentence TBH
-
forecast is bloody grim thru CHristmas - could be a lot of games off at the weekend
-
depnds which Spurs turn up - they could murder us or just collapse - probably the least predictable team in the PL right now

Mourinho makes apology to Johnson Jose Mourinho (right) was critical of Everton's Andy Johnson Mourinho has changed his mind after viewing the incident on video Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has apologised for comments he made about Everton striker Andrew Johnson after Sunday's 3-2 victory at Goodison Park. Mourinho claimed Johnson had dived to win a penalty and Everton responded by saying they would make an official complaint to the Football Association. "Everton, his manager and he deserve my apologies," said Mourinho. Everton chief executive Keith Wyness added: "Common sense has prevailed and this is an end to the matter." 606 DEBATE: Your reaction to Mourinho's apology Everton initially said they were taking legal advice because the remarks questioned Johnson's "professionalism and integrity". The incident occurred when Johnson went down after challenging Chelsea keeper Hilario for the ball. Mourinho said that he had now watched the incident again on video and had a different view of it. The relationship between ourselves and Chelsea has always been admirable and that, I feel certain, will continue Everton chief executive Keith Wyness "First I would like to say I have the utmost respect for Everton Football Club, David Moyes and their players," he stated. "That's why I love to play them and especially at Goodison Park, where the atmosphere is magnificent. "Secondly, after the match I was clear and said Andy Johnson is a great player and I never used aggressive words, like some managers did against my players in previous seasons, or like some others recently said about him and Ronaldo. "I never used the word 'cheat'. "After seeing it again on the video, [referee] Mr Halsey did wonderful work and both decisions for penalties were correct. "Did Andy Johnson try to avoid a collision with my goalkeeper? It seems now the answer to that is yes, so Everton, his manager and he deserve my apologies." As well as calling for an end to the matter, Everton chief executive Wyness said: "The relationship between ourselves and Chelsea has always been admirable and that, I feel certain, will continue."

bang the seat prices up by 200% as people would be watching quality and not Titus Bramble et al

makes sense to have a new stadium shared between the two clubs FFS
-
Precisely. None of these new fancy foreign owners are interested in having anything less than 100 percent of the club. They don't want to have to piss about with relics like Shepherd or Ellis or Brown or whoever. Our takeover went that way - first bought out Ellis' 29 percent, then bought out Petchey's 20 percent, then the shareholdings of Ellis' family and hangers on, then appealed to buy shares owned by fans since flotation, then hit 75 percent and delisting. Once at 75 percent (reached pretty quickly once people knew Ellis was f***ing off finally), he kept the offer open to go for 90 percent which means compulsory purchase of the remaining 10 percent and total ownership. A few points from our takeover which might be salient for yours: 1. It takes f***ing ages. Ages in football terms, that is, when you need the money for team investment and you need it NOW (ours went through after the transfer window closed). 2. Even after an offer is accepted, it means weeks of chewing your finger nails *praying* it goes through. you'll learn that a deal isn't actually a deal, and agreements can remain "non binding" for far too long for your nervous health. 3. When they delist, you actually find yourself in the strange position of having even less knowledge of what is going on at the club than you had before - they own it, they can do what the F*** they want with it. Fine so far, as our new owners have been nothing other than faultless thus far, but even in the Ellis years we had the annual chance to go and throw abuse at him at the AGM. Kind of ironic, that. good post and correct in all counts - of course you can still abuse the Directors at every home game but if they are all in Dubai or New Yoik its a bit pointless
-
FFS will just say "Under discussion ........ interested parties.......... confidentiality....... Stock Exchange......, F*** off scum"
-
"Remember that match well. In a funny sort of way it seems like it wasn't that long ago but then again, so much has changed at the club. For the worse, generally." - Alex GENERALLY?? FFS - what has gone RIGHT since then????????/
-
Maybe he's actually been playing all season in his famous cloak of invisibility that he used to don soemtimes and disapear from sight in front of 52,000 people and 12 TV Camera's beats that shitty US magician any day

I was one of them 'muppets'. Had a ticket for the lower tier, but sneaked into the upper tier with quite a few others. Ended up just finding a random place and stood in it making the row all squashed and compact i was talkingabout the CHelski side - I was sitting in the heart of the west stand and the number of people searching for their seats was unbelievable................................................. endorse what you say aboutthe shabby little low level corner wor lads were placed in mind
