They trialled the chip in ball system at the U17 World Cup a few years back and it didn't work particularly well. I remember one time it flashed up as a goal when the ball went out for a goal kick.

Diving is incredibly hard to spot in real time (hence why players do it); if you make it a red card offence you'll end up with players who are legitimately fouled getting sent off. I don't disagree with long punishments but they should be retrospective.
