Why are there so many Barca and Real Madrid fans all of a sudden? They all seem to have sprung out of the woodwork in the fpast few years..

Fourth official is still the same- now it's referee, two assistant referees, a four official and two additional assistant referees.
-
Surely the fact that you can't tell after all those camera angles is an argument?
-
Refreshing optimism.

He's bi-offside. He's offside here and he's offside there.
-
Eh? They're winning. And? My point is their games always seem to have loads of added time. OK, sorry, thought you were making a different point.

Barton got a ban for touching his own cock, during a match which was caught by the camera man. Rooney specificly swore at the camera and public. He should be beheaded. Barton didn't get banned for that did he?

They're all similar lengths- the maximum they can show is 10 minutes. The first few games get more studio analysis which is why they might seem longer. I've seen them show 20 minutes of a game before, only the other weeks their was a weekend when their was only one or two games on the Saturday because of the fixture list. They should at least have a red button option for the game of focus. They've never shown 20 minutes of a game before- anything above 10 minutes counts as 'extended highlights' which only Sky have the rights to.

if the vidic tackle you mean was the one where people were screaming "he's the last man" then it was ayellow as cole didn't have the ball nor seemed likely to be first to it had he not been fouled. Frankly, I don't understand the rule. Is it a red for denying a goalscoring opportunity? Does anyone know what constitutes a goalscoring opportunity? I'm pretty sure reds are dished out if you get fouled when being one on one, regardless of the control of the football. Is it just poor application? QUESTIONS?! The red is for 'denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity'. Millions of factors- speed of the player, how much control he had over the ball, direction he was moving in, whether there were covering defenders, position on the field etc. Yellow was given because ball was going away from Ba I think.

Some right miserable fuckers in here Ghana fans and players made it a class game, enjoyed watching it.

Love how Brian Kerr doesn't have a profile
-
Fucking hell James, has anyone ever agreed with any of your ideas?
-
eh? was that not given at that scoreline and point of time in the game...WTF this is the reason why i love to see manyoo go out, s*** like that It was given, but not that by that extra official in shot. He just stood there and said nothing He doesn't have a flag to be fair The linesman was on the goalline as well.

Fourteen quid for that? Looks like they've just photoshopped the crest on!

Rio's twitter is usually good reading. Comes across as a very decent bloke. The ref did the 2009 final where Man U lost to Barca so shows Rio can be quite level-headed. He's usually a pretty good ref ,though he had a shocker tonight.

I'd like to see a Premier League referee do my job - they couldn't. What's your point? Just saying everyone seems to be acting as if there's some secret to getting every decision right that refs are overlooking- as long as you have humans refereeing a very quick game there's going to be mistakes made. I doubt most on here could even pass the fitness test to be a PL referee.

So a wreckless challenge is something that is fine to miss. Laughable. The referee also had the best view in the house to look at it. Never said it was fine to miss but you seem to have no appreciation of the difficulties and challenges involved in refereeing a football game or any evidence to back up what you're talking about. To get paid around £100k a year for 90 mins work a week, I bloody expect them to get most decisions right. Also the referee's club when they back each other up despite making howlers every week is pathetic. Do you not think they train, have European and cup games, review incidents etc? Arguing with you is so frustrating man

They're not really simple decisions though are they? They're simple if you're watching them with slow-motion replays, not if you only get one look at it. I'd love to see you try and referee a Premier League football game, you'd be a wreck after 5 minutes.
-
My problem is when they get the basics wrong. Just simple decisions they get wrong time and time again. Also consistency of decisions is terrible. What do you mean by 'simple decisions'?
-
Bollocks. Referee's 20 years ago got most things spot on and this was when Sky was as popular now as Jamie Oliver. The thing that really does it is the simple things which ref's get wrong. They get paid 100k a year to do this, and their decisions are totally biased and unacceptable. Corrupt organisation. How many games 20 years ago had multi-angle coverage on Sky? In fact, how the fuck would you know what happened 20 years ago- aren't you in your twenties yourself?
