Even a year is a long time in football, especially with the injuries he's had. I think he can only be judged on recent performances, where he looks to have lost his strengths.

Shearer got loads of goals for us but I wouldn't stick him in the team.

I just don't feel a team "need" a WORLD CLASS midfielder to win the league. Obviously it's all subjective.

I can only think of Rodri Liverpool didn't have a world class midfielder in 2019/20 either.

He's had more impact for us than Ferdinand, and Ba to be fair. I adored Ba though. Just a genuinely incredible striker. Wish we'd had him a lot longer.

Not many players in the world are "top top World Class". Salah is definitely one of them. Szoboszlai and Gravenberch are easily two of the best midfielders in the league though.

Don't think he's being disrespected is he? People just don't want to see him on the pitch. He'll be remembered fondly as one of our best ever strikers (imo) but he's finished now (again, imo).
