  1. Nobody able to tell me anything about Southampton's appeal then? It's quoted as gospel on here, but all I can find is an article stating the PL took time to investigate the company, not that the deal was rejected and re-submitted? It might well be the case but I'm interested in how people on here know so much about it.
  2. This is how I see it too. Ashley is probably raging, but he's also seen an opportunity to score a PR open goal. Plus he probably rightly considers he was robbed of the opportunity to sell the club. It's all about compensation for him as far as I can see. If there were attempts to get PIF on board surely the PL would have accommodated them, but instead have returned an outright rejection. Maybe his legal team advised him how much he's likely to win, and he's spent that on some Bournemouth players.
  3. To all of those convinced this is going to happen, I have a question. What's it going to take for you to admit it's over? 1. Consortium media statement? 2. An appeal which is then rejected again? 3. Failed legal action after a rejected appeal? We've now had a statement from PIF, a statement from Staveley, communication from the Rueben's, communication from the PL, a statement from the club saying it's been rejected. On the flip side we've had some journalist claim that the parties were all still talking, but now they've had the rejection. Where's the positivity? I'm desperate to get some of it.
  4. The negative interpretations are based on the previous 13 years of Ashley. We can't have nice things. I struggle to comprehend why certain posters can't understand why other posters think the worst? The over the top "Oh, mark my words, this is 100% happening" posts are really tiresome. There is middle ground in all of this but those posts tend to get ignored. So, my view. I really really want this takeover to happen. I want to see the back of Ashley and believe this is the only (realistic short-term) way. However, regardless of how much Ashley wants it, Staveley wants it, PIF want it, the evidence, removing wild assumptions and guesswork, point to the fact that the PL have an issue with it. At the end of the day, it's their process, it's their "club". Unless something dramatic happens then I can't see this going through. There has been no word from anyone that an appeal is going to happen (let's hope it does) and the only thing we know is a proven liar has released a statement about "considering options". It's great to have positivity but it's also sensible to be realistic. That's the basis on the, as you call them, "negative" posts. Not really, not at all in fact! Realistic posts (hopefully not ignored) are such as those from me where I keep on saying . . "things ARE happening, wait for the outcome (not before) then we will know". I guess this is where you and I struggle to understand each other. There will NEVER be a definitive outcome until the club is sold, that's a fact. I'm not arguing that. However, all you're doing is speculating on what the consortium will do. Appeals, legal action, restructuring the board etc, it's all speculation. Until the consortium show their hand, the takeover isn't happening. This latest release from Ashley means nothing, other than the takeover is now officially rejected. Again, I ask, can someone please show me evidence of the Southampton takeover being rejected and appealed please?
  5. I've changed my team about 10 times this week. Aubameyang is taking up most of the budget so I'm having to put some proper cheapos in there so I can still have a couple of big hitters. I can't work out why they've put loads of forwards in midfield though?

  7. Isn't this the radio presenter who BZG gave statements to? Wouldn't trust a word he says, even though he's probably right. Yep, that's the guy.
  8. Can someone post a link to where the information came from about Southampton's failed takeover and subsequent appeal? Can't find anything doing a google search but loads of people on here have mentioned it.
  9. I don't understand how he could get money from it though - isn't it like suing someone with no money and they just have to pay you 15p a week?
  10. I'm pretty certain our "exchange" was about my insistence that the PL's issue was the piracy problem. Unless that was some other clueless idiot I was debating with. Which has unanimously been agreed by all parties in the deal to be a load of bollocks. You have also been pretty clear the deal is completely off, which was also part of our conversations. In that case, I apologise. Made a decision not to "fall out" with fellow fans, it's just not worth it. Hopefully everything you've said will turn out to be right and the club can have a positive future.

  12. Fraser's always played on the left whenever I've seen him?
  13. We don't have a good enough midfield to get 12th, and our most important player won't be starting the season. We'll be bottom 5 all season.

The reverse Benitez Murphy says hi.
  15. The obvious response is that every conversation is being held privately now so her not talking publicly is a good thing. Roll on the summer 2021 takeover saga. A more obvious response is that there's nothing going on so there's nothing to say That's the one I agree with.

  17. Why would they? It'll be the ones who never left or some new ones. The ones who left must have had a horrible decision to make to do so, they're not gonna change their mind on the back of a few relegated players joining us.
  18. We don't need any fucking centrebacks it's by far our strongest area and we don't really need another striker either unless we are playing four, four fucking two. We do need a new striker, but we need rid of Carroll, Gayle and Muto first. Probably Joelinton too. In fact we need 2 new strikers.
  19. Murphy will go on deadline day, and there's no way he's not picking Krafth. Suspect Lejuene will be loaned out too.
