You're a WUM. How has he not made money owning us? Go on tell us all. If he loans us money, we owe it him back. He's been getting advertising (around £8 million a year) free, taking profit from sales of merchandise. If he ever wants to sell us, he'll make a hefty profit. But no he's not made a penny. Poor Mike eh. Well show me where you get these factual figures from I have asked several times. The accounts, which are the official record of NUFC show that over the 12 year period he has been owner of the club he has lost a substantial amount. As for making a hefty profit if he sells that's the one point I do agree on and it's the only way he will make a hefty profit also, which was the original point I was making. There's definitely a bit of over-simplification in there. Sports Direct has undoubtedly benefitted from its association with the club and therefore, Ashley has as well. What would be the cost of advertising at the stadium to the level he has? £25m per season? Any loss that might show on the balance sheet has been recouped, probably many times over, whether directly or indirectly. Presumably the club shop revenue would have to be specified on the balance sheet, but would how much of that is siphoned off to SD have to be declared? NUFC purchase merchandise through SD to sell as SD get it at a better rate. SD then get a percentage of merchandising profits. People claiming Ashley doesn’t benefit? FFS. Nobody said he doesn't but can you say to what amount he does benefit? Ignoring advertising and marketing? Probably. Including it, pretty much impossible.

Says when the kick is taken, it has to be in line with the goal line, so nothing stopping them stepping on to the line as the kicker is approaching? Anything stopping the keeper standing in front of the ball during the run up then?

Everyone still looking forward to var then? Remember, it’s gonna stop “the cheats”.

Weird decision bringing on two strikers and asking them to just defend. Shape went to shit.

Lottery numbers His shit throw in caused their first too.

Wan-Bissaka isn’t a £50m player. Far from it.

I think if NUFC were offered nearly £10m for Joselu last January he would have been sold. I doubt Rafa would have blocked the transfer even if a replacement wasn't guaranteed. That would have been a near £5m profit. Frankly don't believe it would have been £10m. For every foreign player signed into China now, the club has to match the amount paid to the Chinese FA in order to help develop more Chinese players - so if they'd paid £10m their actual cost would have been £20m. £20m for Joselu. Scunny turned down £4m for a Dutch striker none of you will have heard of from a Chinese team. Of course £10m is realistic.

I’m almost 100% convinced I just saw him in a car in Mallorca. NPW

"The club is no longer for sale. We are focussing on ensuring Rafa Benitez remains as manager of Newcastle United."

But but but, it’ll stop teams cheating. @9Shearergol[/member] You do realise Newcastle Utd will get more penalties and the opposition will get more sending offs against us next season than they have had in the last 6 years in the Premier League Bring VAR on about time we get to watch us have some penalties and watch the opposition get sent off for once. Nope, that won’t happen. You realise it’s still a subjective decision half the time?

Care to explain how it's job done? People are focused on the rich arab supposedly taking over as opposed to Rafa signing a new contract ... people will still be distracted by the time Rafas contract runs out .... then Ashley accuses Sheikhy of being a timewaster , hey presto Rafas gone , yesman comes in as new manager , Ashleys spent fuck all in transfers again and looks forward to pocketing more PL £££££ .... Want me to walk you through it again ? ? Which people are focussed on it though? You mean match going fans?

Does var show if corners are actually corners?

Why not bring it in for every single decision on the pitch? Football isn’t broken, there’s no need for this shit. For too long I’ve seen too many teams cheat to score/win. Teams should have to score proper goals if they want it to count not score goals from fouling or being offside seen enough teams win via that rubbish. So you do want it using for every decision then? For goals like that. Fouling to score/win a game is not how games should be decided seen it too many times. What if a foul down the other end 30 seconds before results in a goal? Or is it only if it’s in the box or within 5 touches?
-
It was a foul. If it happened against NUFC in a match and wasn’t given due to the lack of VAR, we would be calling for it. Just for a minute, will people stop obsessing that var will be good for Newcastle and think of it from a football point of view? What football point of view? If it's going to take them a minute to get the decision correct, then what's the problem? The decision the other night is the better example, but what happens if there’s a foul that wasn’t a foul down the other end of the pitch, which leads to a free kick that eventually leads to a goal? Should var be used for every single decision on the pitch? If not, why not, and where do you draw the line? Fans are going to stop celebrating until var is checked for everything. Fine for tv, shit in the ground. Obviously not What, because they still celebrate now? Give it a few months.

Why not bring it in for every single decision on the pitch? Football isn’t broken, there’s no need for this shit. Aye but they got the decision correct. That's the only thing that matters. I'm confused as to what people want? I want the ref and his assistants to make the decisions, but be better at it. Var is replacing the need to ensure refs are good at their jobs, nothing else.

Another clear and obvious var decision. This is gonna be fucking rubbish in the premiership. It’s gonna become a non contact sport.

Wasn’t a dive, just wasn’t a penalty.

Dont lump me with Flat Earthers you prick If I see something that doesnt make sense, I question it. Like Shelvey not having hair? Shelvey has alopecia.. I thought that was common knowledge. It's called learning, you should try it sometime. I can’t tell if your joking or you need to relax a little I can.
