I'm saying that along with the Police they should accept some of the responsibility. Eh? For being herded into overcrowded pens, inadvertantly crushing their fellow fans and being ignored by the police when they screamed for help? To be fair, a hell of a lot of people have made reference to Liverpool fans storming gates to get into games. I wish we just knew all of the facts, which we clearly never will.

Lampard's actually been better this season than he was last. (I know someone would expect me to vote him like ) Probably Gerrard though, but only basing that on the last 3 months.

25 goals in 27 league matches this season says it all. 102 goals in 135 league matches since joining Barcelona. He's been consistantly world class for the past 5 seasons, regardless of the players he's been playing with. He also does make quite a few goals for himself fwiw and is very capable of running at defenders and taking them on. For me.. Eto'o, Torres and Villa are the 3 best strikers in the world, it's very close between them. No one else comes close. Agreed, Zlatan is pretty close as well. You jest?

That's a horrific read I still can't believe this ever happened, yet it feels like only a few years ago. What I've never really understood (having been in massive crowds) is what the people at the back were actually thinking or doing. Were they being crushed at the back too? Sorry if that's a really naive question...

Mike Ashley; what will it take to make you appoint a manager?

98%? Of how many people surveyed? -
We're actually discussing this?

Other way round, surely?

Do you want Joe Kinnear to be NUFC manager permanently?

Says who? Erm, I think it was in relation to the 2 yes votes? As for the claim about Keegan not losing to a team outside the top 6 - Blackburn? -
This Can anyone , who i will not verbally abuse, explain to me which person came up with that statement about taking a stake in the club? A privately owned club with no shares issue. Are they saving up £250 million? A private business can sell any amount of equity at any price it wants. A public company can not control the price of that equity, other than through performance. If Ashley wanted the money (and the grief) he could give them a share. Which brings us to the "owned by a man they spend the entire time slagging off" bit. Indeed. Its as though they didnt really think the whole thing through isnt it. Or perhaps you didnt? Ashleys bound to bail out in a few years, if not sooner. By the time the ST has raised a significant amount of money hell be long gone. By which time the club will be in a position to be self sufficient? Or are they raising enough money for transfers every year?

If we go down, how will you watch us next season?

Fuck, that's a shit quota of London teams, since when were shitty northern clubs doing so well? They're all in league 1 and 2. -

Aye that's one of the few positives to take from it. Don't think Scunny got many Saturday at 3pm games last season. Lots of Tuesday and Friday night matches though. -
Gerrard will get it. Or Ronaldo. Doesn't matter what they do.

Keegan was a massive draw for players, but that doesn't mean he had the time or ability to go and find them. -

OK, let's start it again. You compare form, and who the team is playing. Us v Boro last night. You start... -
0-3 (Rooney, Fletcher, Ronaldo)

He looks an absolute knob-end.

Care to show evidence of that ? As I recall it, I had been sniped at myself and responded in kind. Odd how you lot seem to think that you can snipe, but the sniped AT can't reply. You really do have a pie-in-the-sky image of NUFC mate. Normally when someone wants to sell a club or a business it is actually quite sane to have the club seemingly in good health and a viable healthy purchase, in the hands of a man guiding them well. Please point out where this applies with NUFC if you don't mind. Or do you regard THIS as having a go at you ? And please note - this is in answer to a little dig FROM you. Which, if you can bother yourself to recall, was my original point. Hang on a minute, haven't you just proved my point? Where was my dig? As for the second part, it looks to me that Ashley is trying to get the club on a stable footing, rather than losing 30-50m a year. Eventually (and it's a risk with the threat of relegation) it will be a much brighter prospect for someone to purchase. -
Let's define "footballing brain" (apologies to Nixon & HTT)
Shearergol replied to bulivye's topic in Football
There's surely very few top flight footballers who don't have a footballing brain? Plenty of them play in the lower leagues, and it's the brain rather than the ability which moves them on another level. -
Ability plays little part in how we play the game - a lesson in football (TBC)

Point 2, for discussion: There is no such thing as talent [/fact] -
Always the fans fault. If it weren't for that banner, we'd be pushing Everton for that European spot. Robson would probably have stayed another year or two if it wasn't for the fans, tbf
