  1. Who off the forum is going? Might see if I can introduce myself....
  2. No it won't. The record attendance was before the seats were put in the away end.
  3. You'll not get in mate. It's where Scunny fans drink, and it's tiny. Just go to Old Farmhouse right near the ground. Sheff United fans were in there on Saturday. OK cheers mate. football ground guide reckons they'll let away fans in, obviously needs updating. They do let them in. I'm just saying you probably won't get to the bar! Most fans just walk it, but a taxi should only be a few quid. You might get a nice police escort anyway. If you fancy the Honest Lawyer, it's about 2 minutes from the station. Turn left out of the station, then right at the lights. You'll see it on the right hand side of the high street. cheers. Might pop into the Honest Lawyer when we get there for one and then head off to the Old Farmhouse. You'll get no bother wherever you go to be honest. All the scunny "hard men" are actually 13, so don't get into pubs.

  6. Just seen that O'Connor is missing tonight, which is a massive blow for Scunny. I'll change to a Newcastle win now

  8. What's your prediction Gol? In the unique position on this board of knowing about both teams. I watched both teams at the weekend, and if Newcastle play like they did in the first half, Scunthorpe will win. Scunthorpe always conceed goals from crosses, so depends if Taylor is playing at right wing or right back. Before the weekend I had this down as 1-2, but I honestly think Scunny will nick it by bossing the midfield.
  9. Last time Carroll played at Glanford Park he was sent off. He was shocking before he got sent off anyway, so it didn't make much difference.

  11. How is R.Jones playing for Scunny? He had a really good season at Hibs last year. Useless for the first few games. Came out and said that he was struggling to adapt to the pace of the Championship compared to the SPL. Then he headbutted a post, missed a game or two, and he's been rock solid since. Man of the match yesterday; won absolutely everything in the air. As I said, he really does get turned too easily. Luckily Mirfin has the "Carvalho" talent of making last ditch tackles.
  12. Scunny's centre backs get turned far far too easily. The best way to play against them is a nippy forward playing right on their shoulder. As for the earlier question; Sharp and Keogh never played together at Championship level, so it's hard to compare. Hayes and Hooper are a top partnership, but not that great without the other. Scunny have no depth whatsoever, so if either Hayes or Hooper miss the game, Newcastle's defence won't have a great deal to worry about (Forte is RUBBISH). I'm kinda hoping Butt plays, as I'll be pretty much at pitch side (by the way, if you haven't been to Glanford Park before, the fans are VERY close to the pitch) and I wanted to have a quiet word with him
  13. To be fair, last time Scunny were in the Championship, most games were sellouts. They (we ) were a league two club a few years back. Are you a Scunthorpe fan? Yep. What brought you here? Seems random. Originally? Been a fan since 1982. Something to do with a certain Kevin Keegan. I follow Scunthorpe because they're my home team, and I've never really (until now!) seen a problem with supporting the two teams.

  16. Really can't see the players enjoying playing at Glanford Park. There's no width at all though, so that's perfect for Hughton's long ball game. Just a shame for Newcastle that Rob Jones has started winning absolutely everything in the air. Scunthorpe's weakest position is right back, so Jonas needs to play. Jonas vs Cliff Byrne is no contest tbh. The main thing in Newcastle's favour is that they're not going to take anyone lightly anymore, following the last 3 games. I think if they go into the game thinking they'll walk right through Scunny they're in for a massive shock. O'Connor, McCann, Togwell and Wright are a much better midfield than Guthrie, Smith, Nolan and Lovenkrands. Newcastle will tear Scunny apart at home, but it's anyone's game on Tuesday.
  17. Said earlier on. I've watched both teams today, and Newcastle have no chance on Tuesday. Scunthorpe's midfield > Newcastle's midfield We have no chance against Scunthorpe? Righto go back to the rubber room now mate. You watched both teams today then did you? Don't be so fucking daft. So what are you basing your argument on? Sorry, I'll reword, just for those people who don't understand the obvious.. Having seen both teams play today, unless things drastically change, Scunthorpe will win. Better?
  18. Said earlier on. I've watched both teams today, and Newcastle have no chance on Tuesday. Scunthorpe's midfield > Newcastle's midfield If we're going on todays games then, Sunderland will be in the top 4 and Villa will win the league? We have no chance against Scunthorpe? Righto go back to the rubber room now mate. You watched both teams today then did you? No, but I'm actually basing on how both teams are playing CURRENTLY, not for the entire season. That's pretty obvious though, so I guess you're just being a tit?

  21. I've never really understood making subs this late if you're chasing the game. Doesn't give the player long enough to get into the game.
  22. It's safe to say that this strike partnership just doesn't work.
