that has been happening far too often at this club. albert was knackered,as were howey and ferdinand,ginola wanted away,beardsley was getting past it,gillespie was getting sussed...the team dalglish inerited needed more than tinkering. I spoke to a professional footballer this morning who claims that Best was 2nd choice yesterday, and the fee is only around £200,000 + extras if and when we get promoted. agree 100% about the use of stats as opposed to performances. I simply hope he's better than his goalscoring record suggests. Well no, I wouldn't say he is Should have signed Hooper IMO.

Gary Hooper has scored the same amount of league goals this season as Best, but has looked more impressive doing so. People are obsessed with stats on here rather than watching players. I know you lot aren't used to lower league football, but surely some of you have taken your heads out of the sand and started watching a few matches?

He was easily their worst player on the pitch though, and their own fans were having a right go at him. Once, that's enough to make an assessment of him. My sincere apologies. As long as he makes sure we go up, that's fine. Ashley is like Kevin Phillips - good in the Championship but awful in the Premiership.
