  1. Lets wait until the whole episode is over first and we can say for definite that they were wrong we can say now for definite that they were wrong. yesterday they ran the story as if it was a fact that Keegan had been sacked but covered their arses by saying "our sources say". they talked up replacements, they slagged off Ashley, Keegan etc. They whipped the fans into a frenzy. None of it was based on any factual evidence. It was based on gossip and hearsay. And now they all look like clowns. Whatever way you look at it they jumped the gun and are now desperately trying to save face. The club had a press conference lined up to announce it. Keegan and the club had parted company. This news came out long before the media picked up on it, from very good sources within Northern Rock. If you honestly think that there's nothing to this story, then please tell me why the club are still in talks with Keegan?
  2. Good post. Up until a few days ago everyone on here seemed happy with the way it was going, of course we would have preferred to have spent more money and got cover for our fullbacks but one thing that wasn't in doubt was the quality of the players that had come into the club, so much so that people expect Xisco to be class just because of how good the others have been. Without this set up would we have known that Jonas was prepared to buy out his contract? Or would we have managed to not only find a bright young lad like Bassong but manage to get him here on a trial so the manager can get a good look at him? Someone has been on the ball behind the scenes to make these things happen and it would be a shame to lose that. The only good thing about getting rid of Wise would be an end to the constant media circus claiming everyone is stabbing each other in the back. there were plenty of people not happy with the way we were heading. a couple of posters, afar, unbelievable and me got a lot of criticism for highlighting concerns earlier in the window. i don't think Wise has anything to do with getting in Jonas or Bassong, that was probably more to do with the likes of Vetere & Fucillo (scouting) and Jiminez & Llambias (negotiations). There's no reason why the former two can't be retained as scouts as keegan has worked with scouts all his career. I'm not sure Keegan's ire is necessarily directed at the former two, more likely the latter two. while they got in a few players they also missed out on plenty more leaving us with a good number fewer than what we needed. i bet when they missed out on Modric, despite having the owner of his club and his agent in the city, that Keegan was pissed off but was given assurances that things would change. they didn't so Keegan got upset. though there could be more to it than that, or it could be different. The comment about the way it was going was in regards to the recruitment team and the standard of players we've pulled in, although feel free to give yourself another self congratulatory pat on the back for showing concern about not getting enough players in. that's not like you Baggio. disappointing that you resort to crap like this because you can't construct an adequate response. Because you misunderstood the point I was making? As I said, people were disappointed that we didn't strengthen further but nobody had a problem with the set up and the quality of player being brought in, it's only since Keegan threw his toys out of the pram that people seem outraged at the likes of Dennis Wise. More to the point, the very people complaining about Wise are the people who complain about the media saying there is a problem in the first place!
  3. Are we ever going to find out the truth, or a load of spin, as usual? Probably a load of spin, which means I won't "pick sides". It's for the good of the club that we support whoever stays tbh.
  4. You're joking?!?! :-0 About which part? Andy Carroll has proved nothing more to me than the fact that he's a human battering ram. Even when he went out on loan to the Championship, his record was pretty pathetic. Don't see why so many rate him tbh. Agreed. He was shite in the Championship, he'll be shite in the Premiership.
  5. I'm going to reserve judgement until the facts come out. Both Ashley and Keegan said there was money to spend, especially the £12m from Milner. For some reason, it wasn't spent. However, this whole sorry episode has highlighted my fear when Keegan was appointed. A large number of fans will support Keegan before they support NUFC, so even if he's to blame he'll get their support. That to me is very damaging, and is exactly what fans were fearing when Shearer was linked. Yes, it's great to have someone who is so closely linked with the club, but on the other hand it's a lot harder letting them go when it's needed.

Bollocks! I hate the little cockney twat, and it shows a total lack of understanding of NUFC and football in general that Ashley appointed him in the first place. You complain about the media in one thread and believe everything that is said about Wise in another. Amazing. What are you going on about!? I didn't mention the media in that post. I don't need the tabloids to convince me that Wise is an odious little shite! Dennis Wise, Director of Football at NUFC. Does that sound right? Think about it! Go on then, tell me how you know what he does, or doesn't do.
  7. It hurts because it's true. Bollocks! Well let's start with the headline, how the fuck has Keegan been humiliated? If he's walked away, which many people feel is true, I assume he must feel that himself, no? No! If he's walked away he's done it for a very good reason. IMO Keegan would only have walked at this time if he felt he was not being backed 100% by the owner and the board. In my book that doesn't amount to humiliation, that would be the action of a proud man standing up for his principles. So in essence you agree with the rest of the story, if that's the case?
  8. Oh, and seems the "transfer team" are actually doing a good job
  9. It's hard to not believe a lot of that. It's also hard to side fully with Keegan knowing that he wanted to keep Barton and Smith, which was one of the issues. Time for NUFC to implode me thinks.
  10. I'd love for Citeh to spend big on transfers and wages in January, only for a new ruling to be brought in next summer which would restrict their outgoings.

Someone leaked information to the press today. I blame whoever that was.

  14. You need to calm down before your health suffers. If Keegan's pushed out, I'll have your season ticket.
  15. Will an admin do an IP check of the 13 people who said no and ban them from this site please?
  16. I have no idea what you're trying to say there. Are you claiming that you don't need better players, you just need better tactics?
  17. Thank god we didnt get Woodgate,Modric or even put a bid in for Nasri, it would of been cRaZy. Still the player Valencia cant be arsed to keep as a squad player (If he plays well we still lose him ) & x-Liverpool squad player Danny Guthrie are tidy deals. At least Jonas & Colo are really positive signings & probably save this window as being a poor one. What would signing Modric, Woodgate or Nasri have to do with it you spanner? Dave isn't saying we shouldn't spend money, just that he doesn't want some investment group or bored playboy coming in and throwing unlimited money around.. Would that not be throwing money around? KK has always been well backed at Newcastle (part 1), Fulham & Man City. I am sure Kevin would like the sort of backing Hughes has got compared to what he has had this summer? Or do you not agree? I agree completely. The teams winning things are the teams spending money. If you don't like it, support a lower league club. theres also a lot of teams spending money and not winning things. The point is we're attempting to do things following the Arsenal model. 4 or 5 years ago they were the best team in the country. Ever since Man United and Chelsea have cottoned onto that fact and out-bought them, they're now 3rd or 4th best. We're following the wrong model if we want to be successful. I 100% understand the need to do things slowly (unlike Spurs) but this board has now had three transfer windows and spent next to nothing.
  18. Maxi Rodriguez Ewerthon ?? I don't understand that list. Half of the players on it are still under contract.
  19. That's how I feel, which I know I shouldn't really. If Keegan comes out and says that there were problems which have now been sorted, it'll give the perfect excuse to brush over the fact that we simply didn't bring players in which we needed.
  20. I've just got back from seeing Scunthorpe score twice in injury time to come from behind against Notts County in some competition I don't even know the name of. Football's amazing mate, just not at this level.
  21. Bet Dunne's thinking twice about that new contract he's signed....
  22. Don't think he'd go to city unless he's a greedy twat like Ribena, he'll want Real or nothing to please his scum of a mother Robinho's heart was at Manchester City

  24. Reckon Man United would sell him to City then?
