  1. It's true, just as our defence will (generally) benefit from having a Colo in it. Someone with presence, quality and footballing authority. We need a Colo in our centre midfield. Just a guaranteed very solid (potentially) world class player. But we have Butt and Guthrie. The former should only play in a midfield 3. The latter should be the equivalent of Freddie Flintoff bowling: first change. Our midfield were the reason we were so poor last season. Butt is ready for playing in League one to see his career out.
  2. Jason Roberts is NE5's favourite player. FACT!
  3. Smith and Barton out, with 5 new players coming in would be great business. I still think Shola will go. It's more likely that Shola and Smith will go than Barton, so you're probably right.

  5. if they do, well done to them We should break the bank to employ their coaches if they manage that.
  6. I'd convince you all to travel down to Scunny for a few games
  7. For £12m you could buy two replacements and I'm pretty sure at least one would be as good as or better than Milner. If only Martin O'Neill had your football expertise eh. He is prolific compared to Jonas. PLEASE NOTE: THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS ABOUT GOALSCORING STATS & NOTHING ELSE. and N'Zogbia. MON has never made a bad signing.
  8. had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway had he not and villa bid 12mill. the club would have sold him anyway FYP FYP FYP FYP FYP FYP FYP FYP FYP
  9. Needs another season in the Championship. Another great example of a player who shouldn't be sold by his club. Sheff United with him have a chance of promotion.
  10. Nah, haven't you read the thread, it's a piece of piss to find someone much better and cheaper (fee & wages) than Milner. Andy Keogh. £7m should do it. Much better than Milner. Easy
  11. I agree with you The fat aussie is hear to pick up his wages and will spend well over half the season injured. This is not about Viduka, Smith or Duff and what wages they are on. It's about the club receiving a bid for a wantaway player at four times his worth. I disagree, this is the club panicking and getting rid of assets people will actually buy, nobody would touch Viduka, Smith or Duff on the wages they are on with the track record they have hence why they are still here. N'zogbia wanted out and even said so but he is still here!!! Milner was a sucess at Aston Villa and with the lack of right wingers about he is a very sellable asset and with the window approaching his value has risen. Not at all disputing that 12 Mil is good value for money but it is the fact we need the money and won't be spending any that is dis-heartening D Man speaks sense. Even the bit where he states the club won't spend any of the money?
  12. fee? they will have no doubt got a good price for him, unbeliveable how man utd always managed to sell there junk for decent prices, Smith,Richardson etc 5-6m each, did they not get about 7 for rossi!?? Please dont include Rossi with the other two, I know he was crap for you but hes a wonderful player and I've still no idea why we couldnt convince him to stay. As for Saha, hes honestly one of the best strikers in Europe when he's fully fit. Of course thats once every 3 years, but even so. What? When was that?
  13. Fair play to Leicester tbh. I wish more lower league clubs held onto their players. What would Leicester do with £5m anyway? You could get a fair few very good players for league one with that money, not to mention the fact his price can only drop as no one is going to pay more than 5m for a player playing in league one. Or on the other hand, Leicester are actually aiming for promotion. What's to say he won't be playing in the Championship next season? They don't really need the money anymore - they need the players to get them promoted. And with 5m you couldn't help to achieve that? It's not actually that easy to spend £5m in league one and come away with players who would improve the team. I know that sounds like a strange thing to say, but I've seen it first hand with a number of teams. Were you spending it like? I'd have kept Sharp and Keogh tbf You could have bought them two for £5m. Mattock isn't worth £5m to Leicester really. A £1-2m left back would be enough for what they need. To be honest I don't think it's completely about the money. It's about showing the fans that the club wants to keep it's better players and compete at the top of the league. At Scunthorpe, nobody cared about the millions we got for Sharp and Keogh - we wanted to keep them. Didn't help club relations one bit. Sheff United slapped a £10m price tag on Sharp

Nobody (apart from James I guess) is doubting that.

  17. Agree with that apart from the score. 1-0.
  18. When Ronaldo wanted to leave Man United, most of their fans were like "fuck it, we'll just replace him". How come we're so desperate to hold on to a pretty average player who actually isn't a first teamer? Because Man United can go after any player in the world as a replacement, and a. afford him and b. have a good chance of getting him? For £12m we could get a player easily as good as Milner. Ronaldo is the best player in the world. Neither AC Milan or Barca will sell the 2nd and 3rd best players in the world to Man United.
