Benny Benitez: Parky 6 Benny 2 (Benitez watch.). Inter sack the waiter.

Ironic that you call me a child, yet still feel the need to say "blow me". My opinion is that you're wrong, and clearly know nothing about football -

I'm absolutely amazed, I really am. I love Mourinho, think he's a top manager, and a character to boot. However, Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea are light years above Liverpool in terms of squad player. Name me more than 3 players from Liverpool who would get in their sides, and I'll name you 9 from theirs who Liverpool would love. -
as he says, souness would say that. But I expect you know best Leazes, from day one of the Luque signing I told people that Souness wanted Boa Morte, and Freddie decided he was over-priced. HE told Souness to buy Luque. That comes from a source NOT involved in NUFC, who has day to day dealings with Fulham. He has no reason whatsoever to lie. This isn't me making the claim now Souness has come out with it, it's on toonchat, or toontastic, and has been from the start. I don't trust Souness with 99% of what he says, but he's absolutely spot on about this situation.

One thing is for sure. If we do get Houllier, we must all stick together and hound him out as soon as possible.

It's 6 or 7 players less than either Chelsea or Man United have though. I suppose if you mean "Jose would win the league with that squad, as long as Chelsea or Man United aren't in it, no bother." then it's close to making sense. Still forgetting Arsenal though, who have a much better team, if not a better squad. Shit, that means Jose would have to turn 4 class players into a team which could beat 3 teams of 11 class players. Fuck, he must be good. -
Chris Mort: Criteria for the new man in charge

Without a shadow of a doubt i'd take Hughes over Houllier. Rising Prem manager, almost 20yrs younger than Houllier, proved himself internationally and in the prem Vs France's Howard Wilkinson. No contest. It seems people have been blinded by the foreign effect. He's proved more in the Premiership than Houllier? Interesting take on things. -
To Bartons a cocksucker? Is that a no then? MODS?

Shame they didn't play like they did against Birmingham, when they just didn't turn up. Had 10 minutes where they had an ok spell. Mind, they always save it for us.

He's good, not God. Liverpool's squad is weaker than Spurs/Man City/Everton tbh. They just have 3 or 4 players who are top class. -
FFF president 'reassured' Houllier not moving to Tyneside

Sunday morning has just been on the phone. Says they want their joke back. -
Any chance of changing the thread title please? Not easy to justify that one at work

Chris Mort: Criteria for the new man in charge

I honestly don't think we're in the position to be turning managers like Houllier down. The media claim our fans are deluded thinking we're a big club, and I'm afraid some of you on in this thread are proving them right. Of course we'd all like the top European manager, but you need to be realistic and understand that we're an average mid-table Premiership side at the moment. -
good mates owen played his best football under Houllier Thought Hoully sold Owen? Covered in the other thread. Rafa sold him.

Reported on SSN that we've spoken to Houllier's representatives. So at least we know he's on the shortlist. -

Is Oliver just gonna see who is favourite with the bookies, and then claim they rang him? -

Nothing really jumps off the page at you. That's worse than i thought. That's a shocking transfer record! I'd have been happy with Hyypia, Henchoz and Riise at the time though tbh, wouldn't you? -
Yes, but you know why Keegan walked out, don't you??
-
Ive just looked and there are only managers on the back of the Mirror Maybe he means he saw himself in the mirror
-
I've had the argument about Mourinho spending money at Porto before, and I'm pretty sure someone proved to me that he had. Could be wrong though. Anyone got a record of his transfers?

Bryan Robson out celebrating being probably the worst manager to come out of Manchester United ever?
-
When was Houllier seen with Mort? some ITK on here said a member of their family knew of them meeting at manchester airport. Must be true then No-one would create a phantom sighting to sound credible would they.... It was me. As i explain in the Houllier thread, I'm not saying he's our next manager, but we are at least talking to him. Can't find it in the other thread, so I apologise for posting it here. Houllier's been in America for the last week, when exactly were they supposed to have met?
-
I was gonna bring that one up.

Not self-depreciation, just realism i'm afraid. We have a goalkeeper who makes Paul Robinson look competent, a comical defence, a midfield that can't string two passes together and a striker who scores every solar eclipse. That's the same keeper who some people on here want to buy to replace Given
-
Of course. Everyone apart from most of the posters on this thread think he was our MOTM on Saturday and that he is one of the very best prem keepers but hey, what do they know. We must have the very best fans in the world for knocking confidence out of players and eventually driving them out of the club into another team where they are supported and hence perform better (Parker and Jenas the latest examples). Given pulled off an awesome save from Ronaldo in the first half. Tell me about the other wonderful things he did on Saturday. Once again i'll repeat, i really rate given as a keeper, i just don't understand how people can be so blinkered. Strangely, I'm not a big fan of him (he's certainly not the keeper he was 2 or 3 years ago). However, he cannot be blamed for Saturday's defeat, or any of the goals. The lack of protection the midfield gave the defence meant that Given was being pounded. People have an agenda against people like Given and Taylor, and I can't work out why. No other fans of other teams have that mentality
