  1. We were resurgent under Roeder and Shearer after Souness had been sacked and in the middle of a run which took us up to 7th place, it was towards the end of the season Spurs did have 5 away wins but failed to win at places like Bolton, Sunderland and West Brom, we were at home, no we were not underdogs. Our 3rd win in a row, we are at home against a Spurs side that had only won 2 away games so far that season so no we were not underdogs. We had made a decent start to the season under Fat Sam and were 10th, at home again and Spurs were sitting in 18th, yet to register an away win, so no we were not underdogs. We had made a terrible start to the season but not as bad as Spurs, since JFK had came in as manager we were unbeaten at home including victory against high flying Aston Villa, Spurs were well below us in 16th, we were at home and so no we were not underdogs. I'll give you that we were underdogs in the two away wins. Happy now? "here are some obscure statistics I spent the last half hour Googling that could conditionally support my argument, even then I couldn't find anything for two of the six though. But I have to protect my hard-ass image and I don't want to back down from my idiotically one-sided argument so I'll just pretend that I've actually proved something and keep being unnecessarily confrontational and condescending." Got you. What hard ass image would that be? Fucking hell. You quite simply haven't got a clue.
  2. Haven't had a single drink today! Just an idiot then You need to look a little closer at home to find the idiot, I've replied to your pathetic nonsense in the Spurs match thread btw.

  5. 4 of those 6 games were at St. James' Park and to say we have always been underdogs is utter bollocks. Football also goes back more than 3 years. "always" as in "during our six-match winning streak." Sorry if that confused you. The first three of those wins came when Spurs finished fifth. I doubt anyone expected us to win for the other three either. It's fair to say that we were pretty big underdogs for all six. Bollocks, utter bollocks. Bollocks, utter bollocks. Apparently that makes whatever you say true. I'm lost for words with you I really am, to think we were underdogs for those 6 games shows that you know nothing about football. Humor the fool here then, when were we favorites to beat Spurs in those six games? When they were occupying a Champions League place? When Pattison, Huntington, and Ramage were holding down regular first-team places? Or under the sterling leadership of Joe Kinnear? You are obviously clueless so I will not be bothering to answer these stupid questions. What the hell man what a way to promote reasonable debate eh? You're right though. f***ing idiots do not deserve to be talked too. I think I'll take a page out of your book. Good.

  7. The location of St. James' Park, quite simply the best located stadium in the country by a long way.
  8. If I can play it will be, there is still a chance I'll have to pull out.
  9. I imagine a million or so black and white shirts are still stuck in a factory somewhere in Bangladesh because they haven't figured out which league patch to put on them yet. More bollocks from you, replica shirts aren't sold with the patches already on. So does that mean a third party put the league patch on ? You can buy them at the club shop and they will put them on for you along with shirt printing or you can iron them on yourself at home.
  10. All started going tits up when we lost to Partizan on penalties.

  12. Just because we're fucking shit now doesn't mean Parker was a quality player, I wasn't a fan and yes he is better than what we've got now and I would have him in our side right now in a heartbeat but that shows poor management since his departure rather than that Parker is a quality player.
  13. We did however have some central midfielders that could at least pass the ball in Emre and Parker. I wasn't the biggest fan of Parker but he was and is a lot better than what we currently have in central midfield. I liked Parker and Emre as individuals n'all, tbh... Roeder didn't sign either of them though... I know he didn't sign them but they were part of his squad, you said that squad was worse than the one we have know and quite frankly I disagree. It surprises me, does that. I think we have a much better squad personally - certainly a far better crop of individuals. (I know some players from 'today's' squad have since departed). Given, Harper / Given, Harper Carr / Beye, R Taylor Taylor, Bramble, Moore, Ramage, Edgar, Huntington / Bassong, Coloccini, S Taylor, Edgar, Cacapa Babayaro, (Bernard) / Enrique Solano, Milner / Jonas, Geremi Parker, Emre, Butt, Clark / (Barton), Guthrie, Nolan, Butt N'Zogbia, Luque, Duff / N'Zogbia, Duff Martins, Dyer, Sibierski, (Owen), (Ameobi) / Martins, Owen, (Viduka), Carroll, Lovenkrands, Ameobi, Smith Given Carr - Taylor - Bramble - Babayaro Solano - Parker - Emre - N'Zogbia Martins - Dyer Given Beye - Coloccini - Bassong - Enrique Jonas - Barton - Guthrie - N'Zogbia Martins - Owen The midfield's pretty much on par, i'd concede - but aside from that, i genuinely think we've got the crux of a very good side here, which is simply short on numbers. The centre-mid is w***, agreed, but aside from that - i think it's much better than the squad Roeder amassed, especially in terms of defensive/attacking personnel. Guess we'll probs just have to agree to disagree on that one really. Neither of them are great squads but in Solano, Milner, Emre and N'Zogbia we had players that whilst they were not amazing they could create chances, we don't really anywhere near that level of creativity in our squad now which shows just how bad we have become because those 4 I've named were far from amazing that year.

Parker played 41 games that season.

What does de rigueur mean? It's French I think, similar meaning to protocol or standard.
