  1. "what the f***ing hell was that" Do it at goodison to, peculiar to merseyside police? Liverpool City Council - safety exercise required as part of each stadium's safety certificate issued under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.
  2. Fumaça had better technique tbh.
  3. I am no Barton fan but there really isn't much doubt that neither Guthrie or Gosling were far more talented footballers than Barton.
  4. If you watch the longer version Dubravka appears to be choking and pulls Ritchie back to do it.
  5. You not watch him when he was here? Poor finish but it's all about Van Dijk putting him in a poorer position on his weaker foot while also blocking the ball through to Song in the first place, tbf. His positioning was perfect, outstanding defending. It was good defending in that he did as much he could but that still lead to a £30m player having a shot on goal unchallenged from about 14 yards out. Weaker foot or not he should score every time. Makes you wonder why it doesn't end up in a goal every time then. Sissoko isn't very good at finishing. Are you trying to argue an attacking player, regular starter in a top end Premier League team, isn't expected to score more often than not with a shot on goal unchallenged from about 14 yards? VDV did very well to cut off the pass and force Sissoko onto his left foot, but he should still score there. It's a poor finish, there's absolutely no doubt about that. All I'm saying is, there's an appreciation of Van Dijk's positioning, because I think with another defender in that situation, Sissoko has the angle and plays it through to Son who probably scores. Van Dijk has to move him onto his left but also cut off the angle through to Son. He does both and I just thought it was really impressive defending. Agreed, he did as much as he could to block the pass and force Sissoko onto his left through good positioning.

  7. Stiffer is a little confused. The CEO of Newcastle Airport, Nick Jones, has never worked for Newcastle United. John Irving, who used to be Finance Director at Newcastle United and then moved on to Newcastle Airport, is now the Chief Executive of Liverpool John Lennon Airport. None of the current executive leadership team at Newcastle Airport have worked for Newcastle United. Though one is currently a trustee of the NUFC Foundation.
  8. That’s fair, but HTT can only pass on what he’s heard. The clue is in the bit about a Wonga loan.

  10. Lots of large businesses operate like this and most of them were set up pre Ashley.
  11. Looked like it should have been disallowed on first viewing.
  12. I'd take Knockaert. We should be aiming for better tbh.
  13. Greg

    Sunderland

Meeting a few later for a couple of pints. Wish me luck.
  14. Why? A centre back playing at centre back? If you think it is that simple I worry for you. No but it's not like he has been asked to play left wing. A professional centre back should be fairly comfortable anywhere in a back 3. More over simplification really. The roles across the back three are very different, and in football at this level they are basically entirely different positions.

  16. That's actually a good idea. But maybe some shady managers would ask one of their players whom they intend to sub to go down feigning a head injury to get a free pass and thus potentially gain an unfair advantage with 4 fresh players. The decision would have to be made by a doctor. Nothing stopping the player pretending he has a head injury though. A neurologist will be able to tell the difference.
