Players do it all the time tbh! Its not a rare thing in football for a player to want to know how long is left.
-
People mention the physical EPL but the only thing Carr does against physical players is give away fouls in dangerous areas!
Would rather play Solano who may get outmuscled put seems a lot inteligent in his positional sense and wouldnt be trying to pull players down every time they ran at him!
-
I'm really happy for Taylor. Not a big fan of him, but great for him to get the goal! Impossible not to feel for him when he's that happy
Another thing, Martins looked great the few times he was on the ball. We're a different team with him.
Problem now is, it would seem unfair to Sibi to drop him, but I rather play Dyer and Martins, the pace of the two of them could stirr up any defence.
Ah he gets paid enough, he will get over it.
Anyway what about that Milner cross? not bad was it? tongue.gif

I just think a few people are getting a bit carried away after one performance. He did well in possession, but he wasn't put under any pressure defensively, either on the ground or in the air. Premiership teams work to try and expose full backs at the far post.
I just hate Carr so much if a streaker ran on the the pitch and tackled one of their players I would be calling for him to be given a game ahead of Carr if im being honest

I text my mate tonight "Had soo much humble pie I need to be sick" I love it when im wrong with this sort of thing though!
Last season Moore, this season Sibierski.
Maybe next bald bargain basement signing you'll be more understanding. :winking:
I hear we're after Maccarone in January. tongue.gif
Nah I will still abuse the next bargain basement signing, would curse myself if I changed my stance now wouldnt I?

Would much rather Nobby at right back than Carr.
A Carr "arial battle" consists of:
Ball in air
Carr see's attacker
Carr runs into attacker
Free kick to opposition
end.

He's just signed a new contract with Chelsea...

Great timing Jol, ITK-tastic!!!
NO Jol is right, so what he has just signed a new contract, what do they know?
The article also suggests he's got 18 months left on his old contract, what do they know?
They're obviously not as ITK as Jol and his buddies from the Spurs forum
M-J the laughing stock of N-O once again?
Well you lot can mock but me and Jol will have the last laugh when Bridge is here on January. The thing Chelsea don't know is he signed the contract M Mouse, he will be here.
-
In regards to Luque, its was a better performance and he did work his arse off on more than one occasion (still disappointed seeing him once or twice early on just strolling around and others running around like blue arse flies closing down), he got some very dangerous balls in but also looked scared to take on players and take the ball first time when it would have been a better option.
It was more promising than the majority of performances I have seen from him but at the end of the day still pretty average.
Better corner taker than most though!
-
I don't think he is a very talented footballer but playing at left back is a completely different position to playing centre back and I can't really slate the lad for having a poor game. Not his fault and you could tell when he did make a run and slowly kick a ball in to a completely pointless part of the 18 yard box that the first thing on his mind in an attacking position is just to try and get it into the box without fucking up!
-
Ok Milner didn't slip this time for the cross so what excuse are people going to come up with for another excellent cross?

Milner, maybe
Can't be worse than he is right-wing.
Or Carr is at right back!

The next time you cheer on Sholabags you'll have trouble deciding whether to:
a. Cheer on Scunthorpe
b. Cheer on Crewe
Cause he wont be playing here again.....
Fingers crossed anyway.
Anyone who rates him, look at footage and see how he makes an average team look really shite with his inability to control the ball 95% of the time.
"scored goals" WHAT? how many would a decent player with a great first touch have gotten, at least us into 5th place last season.
I doubt it but the point is Shola SHOULD only be 3rd or 4th choice. How many of those would have gotten the goals to get us up to 7th!?
-
Thats what's wrong with this place-we've got a multi-million pound academy coaching young players, but we don't use them. We sell them to other clubs-THEN bloody well buy them back! crackers innit!
You're right in saying GR has taken a lot of credit for stuff he aint done. I'm just wondering if he's owt to do with all the backroom staff leaving?
??? stinks dont it!?!??
What gets my back up, and I think there's a lot out there who'd agree, is that other clubs use their players of under 20, but here it's always 'they're too young and will burn out' crap! what a load of shit! where would the likes of Wayne Rooney be if clubs thought that? if they're good enough, they're old enough!
I'm sure if we had a player of Rooney's quality in the reserves then he'd have got a game by now
Chopra is better than Rooney, never got a chance though

WOW... your all so pro-Shola.
I wouldnt wishi him on the makems!
I hope he survives the op, but maybe he'll never get another game with us.
That'd be the happiest day of the year.....
SSN News Flash - Shola Signed by WBA on 10 year deal !
Are you talking about the same Shola that scored a goal every 2 games under Roeder despite having a fucked hip??? He's not brilliant but he's not as bad as some make out. He's a good 4th striker if we can get another good one in.
-
-
Aston Villa midfielder Steve Davis was strongly linked with a move to United over the weekend, but Roeder is not interested.
The Magpies are well off in midfield, but if they do find they want to strengthen here they have a player in mind with a Premiership club - and it's not Davis.
Joe Cole tbh
Steve Sidwell
-
Would love Curtis here, I think we need experience but this lad is so talented, so comfortable on the ball and isn't shy to organise a defence, would be worth the gamble imo!
-
Martins will definitely come good. He has the tools, he just needs to learn how to use them in the most effective way. I am very confident of that.
Can't believe how quickly some will jump on a player. He is starting in a new league and has just turned 22, for the money we paid he was very unlikely to hit the league banging them in left right and centre as soon as he set foot on the pitch. The glimpses of ability he has already shown for us and some of his amazing work he did at Inter I think it will be £10/11m well spent!
-
Why do people rate Upson so highly by the way?
He had 18 good months with Birmingham, but he never established himself at Arsenal (okay, that maybe harsh considering the competition he had...although Wenger obviously rated Cygan more highly blueconfused.gif), and he's been plagued by injury ever since. I got slated when I suggested Dunn as a cheap, squad member because of his injury record, Upson's just as bad the past 2 years.
IMHO Cunningham helped him out a hell of a lot also!
-
How much for Diop then? (I must admit that I had him priced higher but brought him down to stay within £25m)
I reckon double that at least, we saw how Coleman plays ball with Boa Morte and IMO Diop is a much better and more influential player.
-
Diop wouldn't cost £5m and I doubt Upson would only cost £3m. He is to them their best player and its not as if they let Pennant and Heskey go for peanuts is it?
-
Second week running Ghaly "wins" a penalty. Some one ought to point out to him that rolling 4 or 5 times doesn't do him any favours!
yes you loser but they were both penalties. ok we'll tell ghaly not to roll around so often no more , and iklgizmo due to your ridiculous nickname i have descided not to reply to you.
He does roll around like a cunt though tbh, can't deny that!

and he often does things like he did at the end when he completely outmuscled a defender, ran a ball right into their end of the field and managed to get us a throw in keeping the pressure away from our goal.
