  1. Might actually get a chance as central striker next season, not because that's his position though, because we have nobody else.

    We'll be getting relegated then.

He would have been better than anyone who played central striker this season (the stats back this up). We need to replace Remy who was better wide left.

  2. It's that  or go back to some crap side in France. He's not got much leverage to kick off.

Apart from being played out of position the entire season, still, he was only our 3rd highest goalscorer scoring something like 6 goals in 6 consecutive home games from a wide defensive midfield position but we should send the useless cunt back to France and hope that Papiss "ruined by playing about 3 games on the right" Cisse finds form.

  3. The TV footage they showed post match on the incident clearly shows Simone in the wrong... Varane did nothing wrong...

    Alright

Anyways, any interesting games before the World Cup?

There was a stray ball on the pitch... And from 20-30 yards away Varane knocked the ball back steadily to the halfway line area which you are meant to do... Simone a yard away controlled the ball then lost control of his head...

When I saw the reaction I though a few of the Madrid players did an Arsenal vs van Nistelrooy thing, not a player casually passing the ball back off the pitch

  4. I'm at the stage now where I don't want any major signings, I want our best players to be sold and 30000 gates next year because only then will the hibernating fans wake up and force these charlatans out of our club

can you imagine if they went another window without a proper signing?

i.e. we get to september and all we have to show for it is colback, that cheap spaniard and say something like ba on loan?  i think i'd personally have to stand back in a little awe if they went for it again man, it'd be the ultimate ashley gamble prior to him doubling down by selling debuchy in january 2015

I'd actually be impressed if we managed those 3  :okay:

  5. Fernandes may be willing to spend but he clearly has no idea what he is doing, allowed them to be relegated then scraped getting back up. Shows you can spend all the money in the world but if you continue to make the wrong choices you won't go anywhere.

Remy will end up at Arsenal or somewhere.

    NUFC Twitter Trolling Toure

A player who hasn't played well in about a year shouldn't even feature in the same joke as Yaya Toure

Half a year and played as a secondary full back. Deserves a medal for not kicking off tbh.

  7. I'd still take him on a season long loan if it didn't stop us signing someone better. We aren't going to sign all the strikers we need and I really do think there is some quality in there. We were pretty much safe when he signed, if we wanted a proper look at the lad he should have started every game he was fit for rather than playing Cisse or Shola.

But it was clear he was rubbish from early on. I'd have preferred to have played Papiss more because if we're going to persevere with an out of form player to try and get his confidence back, then I'd prefer it's one we own and not one that could have rediscovered his form and promptly fucked off somewhere else.

We've had this numerous times with players who have turned out to actually be quite decent/good.

He came at the worst time really.

We were safe and the manager had already given up.

We weren't creating much at all.

The lad was already low on confidence.

He was basically asked to play as an attacking midfielder.

We had just sold our only central midfielder with any sort of creativity about him.

I know he already has the famous N-O cliché applied to him, this time being his shooting was as weak as piss but he hit some absolute belters in Holland and I don't believe at 23 years old you lose this. He was just a low on confidence player coming into a team that due to their hierarchy didn't care or had given up.

I definitely wouldn't want us to spend any significant amount of money on the lad but I would like to see him given a proper chance, especially as the one player we are willing to play up front has been out of form for so long and isn't even fit. We won't go on some massive spending spree to recruit players either so will be short for strikers and the likes are Armstrong aren't going to get a sniff. That being said Pardew is still here so there is probably no point.

  8. One of the worst players I've seen play for us. Good riddance.

And I thought you were a decent lad.

I'd be a bit more charitable - played through an injury to get us in Europe under Roeder, seems a sound lad, good professional, doesn't use swear words, etc.

However when you look back at it, we've been watching the guy for 14 years now and he's had us tearing our hair out for a huge proportion of the time he's been on the pitch.  His place in the squad has generally been a waste and prohibitive to us getting new strikers in.  Hardly his fault, but delighted to see the back of him.

    Pretty much this.

I remember stories of him having very painful (cortisone?) injections just to get through games and his hips being completely fucked years ago so I don't really go along with the lazy stuff, just not capable of doing much running.

Fair enough you could say if he knew he wasn't up for it he should have just jacked it in but how many of us would quit playing for our team and getting paid very well for it? He also seems very religious (and a bit deluded) so I honestly believe he thought he offered us more than he really did.

He'll never be a player I will look back on favourably because of his brilliance but I'll always respect him being a local lad who did what he could even if very limited for the team.

  9. I'd still take him on a season long loan if it didn't stop us signing someone better. We aren't going to sign all the strikers we need and I really do think there is some quality in there. 10. Nah sorry can't accept the gestures, we (the fans) didn't deserve them and he didn't need to do them. He went out of his way to do something he knew would wind Newcastle fans up, do you think Pardew or Ashley cares or have even seen the pics? He knew his audience, fuck the little ginger wanker.

  11. Pardews dream list. All free transfer, most rubbish.

I think I read on here Albrighton joined Leicester too.

  12. I've said before that I admire how we shrewdly exploit certain elements of the transfer market. I like how it mocks the elitist notion that you've GOT to spend gazillions just to keep up. I just wish that: A - it was through footballing ambition and not strictly business, B - it wasn't the only strand to our policy and C - we didn't have a manager that negates anything good we ever do.

  13. Hadn't even heard of Neil Adams but some interesting facts Wikipedia has given me.

His name is Neil James Wolfrick Brian Adams.

He apparently went from Oldham to Barcelona and played 9 games.

    His playing position is Benchwarmer

  14. I remember the mackems going mental over Lee Clark and the SMB t-shirt. I thought we were better than that lot down the road? Give your heeds a shake, FFS.

I think Colback will come in and do a job. Is he the big creative signing we all hope for? Nope, but he's versatile and English and will hopefully improve given time.

What does English have to do with it?

I'm of the belief that we need more young english players in the squad.,

I think we need more good English players In the squad.

We've had English before see Gosling, and nationality is irrelevant if they aren't good enough.

Good English players cost shitloads (there is the rare exception), average English cost a fair bit as well.

Need to either grow our own or continue to let Carr do his thing but with a manager who knows how to use a player.

  15. I love how the topic of discussion is irrelevant, could be youth development, or media relations, or the going rate for advertising hoardings, or sponsorship deals, everyone on here becomes a fucking expert.

Yes, our youth development record is patchy, but the youth team has fuck all to do with Pardew or the first team. In fact, first team opportunities for the kids is something we as a club are pretty generous with.

Have to disagree there, we would have seen a lot more of the like of Bigi and Sammy and a lot less of Gosling and Shola if we gave youth a bit more of a chance.

Arguably. But he seems perfectly comfortable playing Dummett. I think it's more that he isn't convinced some of the other kids are good enough. He has criticized them publicly before.

Dummett is only 4 months younger than Santon and 9 months older than Haidara. He's not exactly gambled on the youngster

Him not being convinced by the youth is the problem. He has shown time and time again he'll rather go with the "safe" option which is why players like Gosling and Shola were getting games.

    .

Dummett is still only 22 and of limited experience. I still fully expect you're right with him seeing Shola and Gosling as safer options but the question needs to be asked, why is that?

The manager is addicted to windolene?
