It says nowt at all about the club, other than this spineless heap of cack saw a big pay day coming his way and the club fell for it because the manager at the time was an idiot, wanting to replace good players with crap. What this really shows is everything that is wrong with the player. A total waster. Since the day he joined the club he's been taking the piss out of his employers, his team-mates and the supporters. He's a disgrace, tbh. Yeah, I'm sure he goes up to Roeder week after week and begs him not to pick him in the squad. He just wants to sit at home and smoke the finest cubans, which he of course lights up with £50 notes. Then he phones up Owen, who obviously gets injured on purpose so he can just get paid and never play for us, and they have a good laugh together. What it shows is how much of a clueeless, incompetent prick of a manager we've got. Even when we had no fit forwards he didn't pick him, and the Carling Cup game against Watford was the icing on the cake, finishing the game with 2 midfielders up front just so Luque doesn't get a game. Has he even played 5 games in a row since he joined the club? He never got a fair crack of the whip, and that is a fact. Hopefully he stays put and Allardyce becomes manager. At least then we'd have someone with an ounce of man management skills and would at least TRY to get the best out of him. We shouldn't even have signed him in the first place, but after you blow 9.5 million, you might as well give him a game.. Your username says it all.

But its related to what i posted before pretty Against Reading up front we had Martins and Owen and our attacking power was non existent Im sure that against Blackburn and Watford it will be the same scenario Roeder is just incompetent and he cant get the best out of the players no matter who they are(Bramble or Terry) (Ameobi or Drogba),(Emre or Gerard)... Didnt you understand that the manager is the most important thing when it comes to how successful some club is going to be? Agree. I am sticking to 3/4 good quality players maybe one of them top notch because I simply don't think we are in the situation to totally re-vamp. If Owen had played all season we could have added 12 points to the current total this year imo. Pretty much agree with that, although 12 points may be pushing it a bit.

There were doubts about Campbell last summer but hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I think with 4 good buys (that means good players in the right positions) we can get to the top of the pack that is outside of the top 4. We need a bit more I think to break back into the top 4.

oh dear. You are talking different levels of the game for starters. Poor old Chelsea, runners up in the league, League Cup Winners, FA Cup Finalists, and european cup semi finalists. The manager judges the player. He says to his chairman "this player is worth the fee that is being asked". The chairman goes to his board with a recommendation from the manager. The club have the money. The club backs their managers judgement, if they have the money, if they don't, its hard lines. I have said this so many times. This is how it works. If the board have the money, and don;t back their manager and his judgement and recommendations, they are a s**** board. I'm not explaining this again. Clearly Jon you will never understand. Why was this ? I'm not repeating this again to you. In my opinion, based on watching the club and evaluating the players, the performance of the team is very weak from an attacking point of view. We have conceded possession in forward positions and been put under pressure too often as a consequence. This must improve - a lot - if we are to move up the league. Dont you consider the chance that we are weak from an attacking point of view not because we dont have the quality players but because our manager is too incompetent for this kind of job? I didn't say we didn't need defenders, just that we need a striker, or strikers, and a CM first.

See my previous post. It's great the way some people jump on the latest bandwagon. Slagging the individual defenders is the current one, people mistakenly believing that if a team concedes goals it's all down to the defenders. Yes, they aren't great, but we could put 4 better individuals there and we will still concede goals because the midfield play is poor and we offer very little goal threat. I made the point the other day. Are Hughes, O'Brien, Dabizas and Elliott fantastic individuals? No, yet we finished 4th with that lot generally playing. Ask yourself why. If you need a clue, take a look at the goals scored column for 0102. Tell me what's comical about scoring only 37 goals this season and tell me what's so poor about conceding just 44 that the club needs an entirely new defence. Take a look at some previous season's league tables as well.

We need a quality striker and proper quality in the midfield. 37 goals scored tells it's own story and it's one that won't be fixed by signing a left back, no matter how much some people think it will. Next year we've got a quality striker in Owen, and promising talent in Martins. Ameobi and to a lesser degree Carroll/Sibierski/Dyer can do a job. Agree on the midfield. 44 goals leaked tells another story, next year we have nobody whatsoever to play in the defence, never mind left back... We've done this before though, so i'm going to be quiet now. I don't count Ameobi, Carroll, Sibierski or Dyer as strikers because 3 of them have proven not to be good enough, we don't know about Carroll. We have no idea whether Owen will stay, let alone whether or not he will form a good partnership with another goalscorer like Martins. We definitely need a striker or strikers. Oh, and 44 goals conceded isn't that bad.
