Agreed. Excellent idea.

Which is why it's great to see them knocked-out. I would have loved it if Man Utd got knocked out last season for the same reason too. Scholes' goal and Man Utd's performance at Old Trafford last season int he semi were worthy of winning any tournament.

IMO Barcelona's attacking capability hasn't been seen in the European game since Valencia under Cuper. By the same token, that year Valencia faced a powerful Madrid side that just swept through them. I wouldnt be surprised if the same happens again in the final where pace and power overrun style and finesse. Both sides have top top class movement off the ball. The difference is that Man Utd's movement is more direct and in your face compared to Barca's subtle approach. They blatantly want to pass you off the park, both teams. One does it in your face and straight to the point, the other takes you for a good old schooling before finishing you off.

Spot on! I hate to say it, but I love watching Man U at their best. Far far better than watching Barcelona and Arsenal. I agree. i guess you didn't see barca thump real at the weekend I did, and it was exceptional. Except for me, it's more fun watching a Man Utd. outfit firing on all cylinders. Rooney in particular has that explosiveness that makes him look like an entire team at times. At 2-0 up last night, he was at left back defending for a chunk of the match when he could have been lazily waiting up front for a counter. For me, the high energy. high quality laced with blood and thunder played by Man Utd is breathtaking.

Decide to come out and play? I take it you missed yesterday's game? -

Absolute rubbish. Nothing wrong with the way Chelsea played tonight. They played to a plan that was nearly masterfully drafted by Hiddink and executed by the players. It was a semi final of a tournament Chelsea have shelled out millions to try and win, and they had to do everything they could to win. In the end, the better team has gone through, but you can't criticize Chelsea's performance as anti-football.

Maybe in a way Chelsea were robbed on the night in terms of the pens. End of the day, the two best outfits in Europe will be contesting the final, which is the only real way to determine the true champions.
-
is the idea as evidenced by Man Utd's and Barcelona's game plans in the past 2 nights.

anything to post eh?

Well, yeah, pretty much. shocking tbh PM if you want to discuss it. Thanks. I don't. I've already said what I think.

Soaking it up baby

Lionel Messi is a formidable player, but Chelsea are a formidable team tbh. Hiddink's tactics on that squad could see them win the whole thing.

fuck me sideways! where did that come from?? guess it's good to have some fellas who are well versed in championship football bickering!

Must be rag week like you say.. always knew tempi was a lass!!!

For those who thought that Ronaldo's freekick was ordinary you should take a look at the replays from behind the freekick. The ball must have moved about 3 times in the air. Almunia will not have seen it and could not have judged its flight

Just like they did last year, and against Chelsea... Still waiting to see them SCORE against a decent team. 3 matches that they thoroughly controlled and conceded only 1 goal, and you decide that they haven't scored against a decent team? Obviously my credibility is at stake tomorrow Man U last season and Chelsea this year have basically parked the bus in front of the goal against Barcelona. Man u did it home and away, and I expect Chelsea will be pretty defensive at home as well tomorrow. I don't blame them, but it speaks volumes about their fear of going toe to toe against Barca in an attacking contest. But it's not about an attacking contest is it? Surely it's about coming out as winners of the cup tie?
-
Darren Fletcher has been robbed tbh. He got the ball. Clearly. Feel bad that he'll not have a chance to play in the final. He's one of the more honest footballers these days, and has pissed all over Fabregas from a great great height tonight.
-
absolutely brilliant counter attack. ridiculous passing from Park and Rooney. lovely finish by CR. Man Utd are simply a class above.

Arsenal are unbelievably one dimensional. If you don't sit back and let them play their poncey, quick passing game, they haven't got a clue. If they had a snarling meat headed b****** like Gattuso in the midfield, they'd be unstoppable. Well, and a more capable defence, too. You should be well pissed off that you let 4th slip. Gooners booing, We were never going to get fourth, we didn't have the squad depth to do so. I've been saying that on here all season. Ask Dave, he's always here, he'll confirm this. He'll also confirm that I've been telling everyone how overrated Barry is for ages. I want this to be resurrected when he cocks off this summer, too, so my air of nonchalant detachment will be taken seriously.
-
Sincerely hope they do. I hate Arsenal with a passion. No offence Ash
-
You clueless turdburger. Good one. Give your one and only brain cell a rest after that masterpiece. I'm rather confused as to how you see Arsenal as two-dimensional. Wow, a poor start to a game against the best team in the world (arguably) at the moment immediately renders you as s****. Have you seen them play any other games recently? erm.... he sees them as one-dimensional. and for the record, I agree with him
-
:lolz: at arsenal. total shite they've been so far. if ever there was a bunch of overrated bottlers, it's this team tbh
-
The other sh*t teams' games - Hull 0 - 1 Man Utd, Sunderland 2 - 3 Chelsea

Alan Thompson is according to 5Live. catching up with old mates? or doing a bit of a scouting job for us i wonder. Probably a bit of both. He's on the staff here, isn't he? (along with Robbie Elliott) He is on the staff aye, just with the academy I thought
