    Alan Pardew

.....come back from the clinic but in the meantime would like Pardew sacked
  2. Is he? I seem to recall part of his proposed move to liverpool being demands that he play centrally and not on the wing In that case, scrap that idea altogether.
  3. Sadly I think the perfect player for us will be available in January but he'll go elsewhere - Daniel Sturridge. Can play up top or out wide and seems happy to do so, is pacy and scores goals. He's a bit of a selfish prick mind but still, him and Ben Arfa either side of either Cisse or Ba in a 4-3-3 would be lethal.
  4. Didnt you hear what would happen if we ever exceed 10 purples? Chaos all over the club....cant be having that. Is steve_69 trying to bankrupt the club again? Ungrateful git.
  5. Here's an idea - how's about buying the replacement first before you start selling players?!

    Alan Pardew

You sure about that? I hope to God you're right but i'm not convinced at all. I think he genuinely rates Williamson
  7. Bramble had the potential to be a very good defender but the fact he was borderline retarded stopped him fulfilling it. Williamson clearly only ever had the potential to be an average CB and that's what he is. Because of the above, Williamson makes less blatant clangers than Bramble but he is probably at fault for more goals we concede because of poor positioning, poor judgement, lack of strength, lack of pace etc. At least Bramble had the ability to put in a match-winning/saving performance, even if he rarely did it. You cannot say the same about Williamson. I'll be just as happy when he leaves as I was when Bramble went.
  8. Defending your Defenders is the best form of defence. Having some defenders who can actually defend in the first place is probably the best place to start though.
  9. Desperate for 2 CBs and a RB so we target another midfielder?
  10. 76 points. Up to 40th in the league. My biggest haul of the season so far
  11. Yeah, it might be wishful thinking on my part, but whatever the reason for it i'll take it. Just seemed too much like a coincidence that both hoofers were playing the ball on the deck more. Even Krul didn't seem to be banging it forward as much Aye, I remember a moment where Krul was signalling everyone forward for the hoof (as per usual) but then decided to roll it to Anita. I came.

  13. It actually looked like he had been specifically instructed not to hoof the ball last night - same with Simpson. At times it seemed like he was looking up ready to twat it and then had second thoughts, and played it simply on the deck instead.
  14. He proven already that he's more skillful than Tiote and his range of passing is superior as well. I don't think he's as good defensively yet but he's got plenty of time to develop that side of his game. Absolute snip at £1m?
  15. I'd still stick Marveaux in there - he needs games if he's going to keep last night's form going. We can't just leave him out because he's made of matchsticks
  16. Was i pissed last night or did he actually turn a Wigan player?
  17. Fuck one or the other, i'd rather have both and Colo and one other, with Perch as back up to the four of them.
  18. Dabizas wasn't dross like. Plus I wouldn't exactly say Steven Taylor should be ranked alongside the decent ones yet either. Maybe, but he wasn't exactly a world beater either was he?! Taylor might not be amazing either but compared to some of the other cloggers in that list he's pretty decent. At least he's got heart and he's prepared to put his body on the line - his main failing is that he seems to be made of fine bone china
  19. For over 10 years!? Seriously? Even when we've been prepared to pay for them the ones we've picked have generally been shite
  20. Why is it we always struggle with CBs? For as long as I can remember we've only ever had one or maybe at a push two decent CBs in our squad. We've had to put up with some absolute dross over the years - O'Brien, Bramble, Boumsong, Onyewu, Rozenhal, Williamson, Cacapa, Dabizas, Marcelino, Craig Moore, Ronny Johnsen, Sol Campbell - the list goes on and on and on. To my mind the only decent ones I can remember us having in that time are Distin, Goma, Woodgate, Colo, Taylor, A Hughes (and he wasn't that great) and Faye (not Amdy) It can't be that fucking hard to find and buy decent Centre Backs, every other team seems capable of doing it and it's such a vital position that scrimping on shit ones will inevitably cost you a bucket load of points. If they come at a premium, pay the fucking premium - there's a good reason for it.

    Alan Pardew

I know i was generalising what Pardew said in an interview once. I guess i just want the opposition to worry about us. Obviously when you play Man Utd, City, Chelsea you have to be set up properly. Just not to extent where you hope to nick a goal and hold on for dear life. Thats very Martin O'nil I guess we have to accept that we and most other teams will be doing a containing job on the top four when we play them, but West Ham? Swansea? Southampton? Maritimo? We were the 5th best team in the Barclays Premier League last year. Let's show the fucking opposition why

    Alan Pardew

I find it quite an unbelievable thought that the first team practices "long ball" in training. If they did, we would see an actual pattern of play, and in amongst all the shitness, one or two plays will eventually create chances for us. But even that doesn't happen. I'm pretty sure we don't practice long ball, and that we actually aim to play it along the ground in training. We simply freeze when we're out on the pitch, and resort to the good old hoof. You can see Ba, Cisse et al during the game asking for the ball to be played to their feet. All the time. If that is the case then Pardew needs to address the route cause of the problem - lack of movement. We are totally static a lot of the time. Telling them to move isn't enough - it's his fucking system so he needs to show them where and how to move within it, in order to find space.

    Pardew Out?

It's not quite the same though is it. Moyes has Everton performing brilliantly and challenging for a European place. McDermott has just got Reading promoted and they are struggling to adapt to the Premier League (pretty typical for a newly promoted team). Pardew has almost single-handedly masterminded our downfall with a catalogue of completely baffling tactical decisions. The difference is that we were doing great until Pardew started changing things.
