Pretty much a lone striker in the Nou Camp. Not sure what could have been expected of him tbh. the penalty was shocking though. But does that make Shearer a bottler baring in mind he missed a penalty against Partizan that cost us a Champions League spot, as well as one against Wolves which also pretty much ended our chances of 4th spot that season?

It wasn't even only about the penalty though, as you said anyone can miss (just ironic that again he chooses the biggest stage to fuck up), but his whole attitude towards the game and his teammates stunk to high heavens.

The way he plays with "no fear" I guess is his biggest asset and weakness at the same time. On one hand he isn't afraid to take anyone on, but he also doesnt seem to have much respect for anyone either.

I would have thought the club would make something from every shirt, no matter where it's sold.

Surely that's the case yeah, just a lower margin when there's more intermediaries. That little paragraph is fantastic though

Thought so. The Sky commentators are making all sorts of mistakes. Said it was Owen's sixth of the season and kept calling Geremi "Beye" in the first 15 minutes.

Owen would have been past the defender and the arm was well away from the guy's body. It's not a completely intentional hand ball but it's definitely a pen.

Martins needs to get those balls under control. No chance of a pen on the first shout involving him. Had he maybe managed to control the ball properly ahead of him, then he would have had a solid shout. But no chance the way the ball just fizzled away.

The one that was given Sunderland can have no complaints tbh.

We could really hurt them with long balls over the top to Martins, but he hasn't been playing the cleverly enough.

I must be watching a different game to you, Geremi has played well IMO, fantastic ball for Owens first goal. I must admit eveyones passing has been sloppy compared to of late.

"Keller fouled" by running into and slightly under Voronin, fucking hate the protection keepers get. Think I have said this before but if I was a premiership keeper i would just run staight into an opposing player as soon as a ball came into the box!

Even more ridiculous in the French league. I've heard commentators and coaches mention on several occasions some made up rule saying "you're not allowed to touch the keeper within the 6yards box" ...

Common sense is non existent in that league.
