The teams who play last in the groups will know what will be required for 3rd place to get through so there could well be some dodgy matches playing out for a bore draw. This was experienced in the 1994 world cup before it changed to 32 teams.

Here's a suggestion...Joelinton as a CDM? Bruno as the 8? He reads the game so well and would give Bruno license to attack. He does carry the ball forward well but I reckon he would do a better job than Longstaff.

We should definitely prioritise a CDM this summer. Having someone there will change our whole dynamic and will see us dominate games against the lower half of the table. This will give us more license to really attack the opposition with more bodies and Bruno playing a more advanced role.

Is there a montage of all his touches today on Twitter? There was a 5 minute period from when he scored that he looked unplayable.
