are you sure about that. seemed like we had a good few chances just before half time.
  2. coming from someone that couldnt recognise fenham in aphoto you'll understand if i don't take too serious your whine about the southern lass. How can you remember that ? Its hard to recognise a random street corner street corner ?......it was a f***ing field ! Ok Mr.Grouch a field then . IIRC the field was in Slatyford anyway. slaty ? the dog had legs not wheels man.

  4. Anyway about Jonas, I'd expect a player who's only trained for a few days after coming back from injury to be a big lethargic. not just lethargy...the attitude didn't seem right.

  6. aye. what was with him being determined to play enrique in somewhere even if jonas had time, space and opportunity. it was like he wasn't taking it seriously. A few beers in I am not 100% if your taking the piss or agreeing? I agree with you that is f***ing stupid our fans singing to clubs who have sold there allocation out travelled up miles London/Plymouth done a fair bit of singing themselves to only have our mob sing to them "your support is f***ing s***" they are hardly Fulham or Chelsea ffs. i'm agreeing. jonas wasn't fucking awful, but he was lazy and looked like he couldn't be arsed. hence "hey jose you do all that running up front, i'll get the ball to you"
  7. Clearly a British thing you don't understand then. It's something to be proud of, no? I think it's great that we have such high attendances, but I don't see the need to show it off? I promise you that every-day fans of other clubs don't give a f*** what our attendances are. It seems like some weird sense of false-reality that we're holding onto by spouting off how large our attendances are, none of it really matters because unfortunately the people in attendance are watching Championship football and Premiership football. Its getting talked about more now because the media and fans of other clubs spent the whole summer trying to convince themselves and us that we were all going to slink away and hide now that we're no longer in the top division. Well we're still supporting our team in numbers far greater then most Premiership sides and that's something to be proud of (and something worth rubbing their noses in). To say it doesn't matter because we're not in the Premiership is nonesense, if anything it makes me feel even more proud of our fans.
  8. quite good in the 1st half, quiet in the 2nd. very canny in the pub. the singing sections endless renditions of "your support is f***ing s***" is as pathetic as it is embarrassing. That's just tongue in cheek, it's to try and get some banter going between the fans the banter was up and going, for large parts they were louder. sitting in the gallowgate all i heard was that and "get out of our club"

  10. i disagree. a lot I don't, obviously. Carroll, although he won a few headers, was very poor with the ball at his feet and I thought at times showed no desire to chase anything down. It took the crowd to get on his back in the first half for him to start chasing down the goalie. I'm not saying Ranger was much better, but he was unlucky to be the one that was subbed in my opinion. carroll laid a few balls off with his feet, all ranger done was controlled the ball then tried to hold his man off, which he usually failed. "chasing down the goalie"....come on man, how often does that get you anywhere and when did ranger do it. not writing the kid off but he needs a rest.
  11. still not so sure butt waas supposed to be there. at one point nolan was having a go at ranger to get wide left defensivly.
  12. Tbh, I thought that about Ipswich up until the point where we scored. We just battered them into submission with three quick goals, up to that point we were struggling to get much possession. nah. ipswich was even but we looked more like scoring...till we scored. QPR are a differtent kettle of pilchards.

  14. we were undone by movement, couldn't handle it. routledge and ben watson were the best two players on show. it doesn't need loads of pace if the players are clever enough. i agreed with butt getting subbed but he could count himslef unlucky as he was no worse as the other midfielders at that point, probably better than guthrie and nolan infact. harewood should have came on at half time for ranger. anyone see enrique giving hell to hughton after about 15mins about no support.forward or back, on the left ?.....good for him! they had better techinque and movement than us but we were bigger and stronger with an almost likely better finish. QPR best team to watch this season so far.(including us last week)
  15. it's not that harewood scored but that he looked more of a threat and a better player. wasn't the ranger is great and should be played straight as a banana thread a joke anyway based on the bumdaclarts comments or did some actually think he was that good ?
  16. who lives/works elsewhere in the country. how have our attendances been reacted to by other fane. most fans of other clubs i know of have been very, very impressed.

  19. because the ghost of 2008/9 still stalks the corridors of SJP.
  20. Nonsense - Hamman hated Gullit ; it was because they didn't get on and that the Board was, to quote Hamman, 'Average, therefore the club was average', that Hamman left. Also, people should remember that Dalglish was NOT given the financial free reign that Keegan had in his first Premiership years ; the club became a PLC and had to stick to a budget for team strengthening - that was the reason Keegan quit, he knew he wouldn't be able to spend money in the same way as he had before. Don't forget that NUFC were lying 6th in the Prem when KK went, Dalglish managed to get the side to finish second against all the odds. His bust up with the Board was what did for him, nothing else. He was unlucky with injuries, esp to Shearer because Tomasson had looked great alongside Al in the pre-season games - the injury ruined what could have been a great career for JDT because he was obliged to play CF and he was NEVER that. That he was a good player was proven at Milan later.... Dalglish didn't need to spend big money because he had been left a very good squad by Keegan so major investment wasn't really needed. This was borne out by Dalglish acheiving 2nd place with Keegans players. His results started to go downhill the longer time he had to shape the squad in his way. I'm pretty sure the same happened at Liverpool after he took over from Paisely, i.e. short term success followed by diminishing returns. the squad he inherited was a good one but needed updating with albert and ferdinand increasingly out injured. ginola and gillespie looking shadows of there former selves for months. ginola showing signs of wanting to be away. when he left liverpool they were the current league champs and had won 3 titles in his 5 yeras according to wiki. Liverpool were still winning under Dalglish, but then Souness probably won stuff as well but to me there was a definite hint of decline setting in at the end of Dalgish's time there. If Dalglish needed to rebuild Keegan's squad (which had just finished runners up) then he didn't do a great job of replacing the players he sold. Gary Speed on the left wing was no replacement for Ginola, Des Hamilton on the right was no replacement for Gillhespie. Obviously JDT wasn't exactly a successful replacement for Sir Les either as things turned out. the whole thing spins round what you thought the plan was. in my mind JDT was to play at the front of a diamond. he was never meant to play up front. anyone feel a sense of deja vu ? If JDT was never meant to play up front, then Dalglish should have bought someone else to play up front. The first team that we put out for most of that season was toothless and poorly balanced, and for that Dalglish has to take a lot of the blame. JDT was bought at a time when both shearer and asprilla were fit. he could probably have played alongside one of them but for a large part of the season both were out.
  21. do you think it's only better because of the likes of grey street or because the council and other agencies pulled their fingers out to make the most of what they had. thiking specifically of the regeneration of grainger town and quayside areas and the opportunities for commerce therein ?
