Seems to be doing some job at Aldershot. His name sounds pretty s*** and boring, so I assumed it was a bad appointment. Let it be known I had no idea where he had worked, whether he was currently in work or not, what he looked like or his management style. It is a s*** name. ex QPR midfielder iirc
-
he's crap fair enough but that league was crap when ibrahimovic was in it so it's a bit daft to write off players just because they are playing in a s*** league.
-
it's far from one of the worst leagues. very average though.

why do people think steve harper has to play in the prem to get recognition when heskey doesn't play in the prem but makes almost every squad ?

I'll go several better. Northampton Town Aston Villa Charlton Athletic Liverpool York City Celtic Kilmarnock East Fife East Stirlingshire Dundee United Scottish ones don't count. and liverpool and york aren't in the football league.

i'd very much doubt they'd be allowed to have teams in differing countries.

but when everyones the same and just toys to arab billionaires and only survive on the mood of the owner? Not how it works out there mate, if they buy something it has to be the biggest and best, the competition is far more fierce than here, they wont get bored and stop investing they would sell but they wouldnt just walk away, they would lose to much face in their community. Im not saying its right, but its the way the game is going and were either in it or we`re nowhere. Tbh I can see a time where advertising revenue and sponsorship for these mega-clubs is so massive that stadium income is no longer needed, what goods stadium revenue to a tax exhile billionaire using the club as a social event? free admission anyone? that final bit is happening already with ticket revenue becoming a smaller and smaller ammount of the total for the bigger clubs.

think of what they could buy with their support and premier league TV money. aye, s*** the same as us, as clubs they would be a similar size / finances as us. i personally think if they came into the prem they'd have a financial pull bettered only by man utd.(generated income that is)

bad. why should any club be parachuted into the prem. let them apply to the FA and play their way through the pyramid like anyone else would have to.

Again, you've missed the point. There are almost no black managers at any level of the game. Nothing to do with PL. But where's the evidence that it's linked to racism? It could be a number of factors. Lack of ability, lack of ambition to become manager or coach etc. - the colour of their skin is irrelevant. According to who? The fact is that, currently, about a quarter of players in the Football League are black, but there are very, very few black managers. I'm not saying it's racism, necessarily, but statistics would suggest there ought to be a larger number of black managers. FOR SOME REASON, black players do not tend to go on to become coaches or managers. so if a quarter of players are black which is far higher than the population at large does it mean there is a factor which leads to black men having a higher likelihood of becoming a professional footballer but less likely to become a manger. i guess it's my being white that stopped me becoming a professional footballer as ther seems an in built bias towards black men.

Wonder if that's true. It can't be, Sillius said by the end of this week. end of the week always leads to early next week which then leads to the end of that week (repeat for 12months) i dream of the day the SSN yellow bar reads " Newcastle United takeover complete" then after reading that you jump and run up and down thew street celebrating without realising the reat of the yellow bar read "load of bollocks"

Keegan vs Ashley and Co case settled - KK awarded 2m
madras replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
What's the problem then? If it was all about Gonzalez - they vindicated him. If it was about other stuff then Gonzalez - they vindicated him. We all would like to know what went on beforehand, but if you agree it would have made no difference to the outcome why are you so bothered? because the outcome in the end has little bearing on what was actually happening at the club that year. technically keegan could have been given an abramovic ammount, we could have won all our games and be seen as a better side than madrid of the late 50's and the outcome would have been the same.....the manager had a player forced on him therefore constructive dismissal. And you believe Keegan would have walked out if those things were happening? He walked because the Gonzalez affair was 'the final straw'. The club was rotten to the core and he'd had enough. We're going around in circles here. Ashley and his wide-boys are rotten to the core. Can't believe some still appear to support Ashley / slag Keegan. unfortunatly typical that you as so many others do see that one has to equal the other. Try again in English. you know what it means...as does everyone else. -
I dunno about great mind, seemed to me thy wanted a mid table side bring young talent on and flogg it. We would have never acheived anything under these as they would have sold every bit of talent. We'd have become a feeder club. How long would it have been before fans got pissed off if hey started flogging our young talent regualry, they made a massive assumption that NUFC fans will turn up 50k a week no matter what management do. Wrong I have to agree that with the benefit of hindsight this certainly seems to be the plan Ashley and Mort had in mind. Nurture young stars and sell them at a profit. West Ham produced Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick etc yet sold them all early in their careers. It's a model that doesn't really get you anywhere unless you can hang onto those players. I think the sale of Milner and N'Zogbia, our only two young and promising talents, showed our intentions. dunno like. from a position of financial stability it's what man utd and arsenal do. progress kids that you can sell at a profit if they don't make the first team squad.(or sell for massivly profits if they do)

the price may be the point and bearing in mind how much ashley paid it's only natural he's going to try and recoup as much as possible.

i don't see what barclays being happy with moats bid has to do with getting promotion. all barclays will be interested i is that their risk is viable regardless of wether we get promotion or not. Exactly which just adds to the fact that this new SA bidder story is Ashley propaganda so your mention of barclays is pointless. could have done completely without the second sentence. just trying to save some bandwidth (which ic could have done had i not posted thi..........d'oh)

Not sure about that, most of the players that come through Arsenal's academy have been bought in from elsewhere haven't they? great on one point that the players do come throught the academy and play the best football by far in the country right now....only problem is the lack of english players which in turn makes you feel that something ain't right.
