That's the trend, been looking over where past youths have gone and most end up in none league (Newcastle Blue Star, Blyth, Gateshead), or League 2 at a push. Only been a few youth products make it much higher, and even then those are from the 'early' years so shouldn't really count as football was different then. what is world class ? if it is a player who would get into a worlds best team then what if there is a dearth of qulaity in a certain position (imo all defensive positions at the moment). i may be raising the bar here but i'll class "world class" as those who wouldn't be out of place with the best. if messi continues with his form he will be,ronaldo has the talent and arshavin will be very interesting to watch now he is on a bigger stage.

Because the money will vanish, just like the £20-odd million we got for Milner, N'Zogbia and Given did. most of those monies are still to arrive aren;t they and those that have arrived probably went into the coffers to help finance the wages and other debts.
