  1. Considering our situation I can understand why the club would want to make no money on the event but have their costs covered. We've just been relegated and have a £65m wage bill over our heads and the club is dying on its arse while we have no manager and an owner who wants out. Fuking hell man, it's not that big a deal, were in crisis and THIS throws you over the edge? then read to the end iof the thread.
  2. then watch the hypocracy in full flow. ie others can be shit and half arsed when they realise they have poor team mates around them but owen couldn't. (ie those who trotted out the excuses for n'zogbia and kluivert)

    Administration?

probably due to the type of employment contracts. those on standard contracts ie shop/office staff can go easily. those on long term fixed term contracts (players etc) aren't so easily disposed of.
  4. aye. i hope any protesting etc about the state of nufc is left out of this occasion.
  5. Nobody is having a pop at the police for charging for their services. The club’s actions are stingy not sickening. i honestly can't remember a charity thing like this when the club picked up the tab...shearers and rob lee's charities picked up the bill on theirs.

    Administration?

it doesn't end there and UV does make some good points. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=24954&st=60
  7. i'm taking girl 2 to this today. anyone know if there is any other pre-game entertainment apart from the award thing ?

    New Away Strip

i wouldn't say nice but it's a damn sight better than many are making out. i pretty much doubt anything would have been made of it had we finished 5th last season but at the moment there is an air of "rip the piss" about the club even when there is little ground for it. (and fuck knows the club have given plenty of legit reasons for ripping the piss)
  9. "providing we get paid we don't give a shit. did last season tel you nothing ?"
  10. any chance of changing the thread title as it's not absolutely sickening.
  11. if the people on that board were really from up here it would be called "toontakka"
  12. i get your point. i'm always pissed off when players think they can unilaterally alter their contracts. In this case the club has put themselves in a position where they actually deserve it. It's wrong but it's true. thats where we disagree. the club only deserve it when the contract allows for them to become arsey when the player is shit.

  14. I'm sure Bassong will be shaking in his boots at the prospect of an ear bashing from Chris Hughton. if bassong has refused to play then i don't care what hughton says to him. i just want to know if he is a greedy f*** like so many others. In it's current state, I don't believe any half decent player should feel obliged to play for this club if there is a chance for a better move. I would normally condemn any players with such a poor attitude but when the owner has given up on this season it's naieve to expect the players to feel differently. players can kick up and decide when they want to play when they start signing contracts that say they can be paid off or have pay deducted if they play s***. onre way or the other...having it both ways takes the piss somewhat. I agree...but as the players are now free to take the piss with no real leader at the helm to come down hard, it's a situation which is inevitable and initiated and sustained by the owner of the club. it is but whilst they are picking up thousands of pounds and wanting others to maybe pay them more than that they ought to play and worklike they are professionals worthy of it. If they were at a club being run properly I would agree 100%. stuff that. even when the company i work for goes through s*** i have to perform and if my performance is crap or i can't be arsed i get punished. Exactly. At the company you work for there is some accountability. Where is there any evidence of it at Newcastle? can't be too hard for someone to say "you are refusing to play...right i'm telling the press, your wages are stopped and you'll stop here till your contract expires" it would also be nice if, in a perfect world, any player who done that was black listed by all other clubs. as i alluded to early if players want that power then contracts should cut both ways. In reality though, the owner is 300 miles away in hiding, the club is in limbo, and the caretaker manager won't have the authority or clout to say boo to a goose. He might as well polish Bassong's boots for him and see if he'll chuck him a few quid. if and i repeat "if" he's refused to play it would save that owner a little cash to dock his pay. lioke i said earlier i'd just like to know so i can grade him as a decent pro and good up and coming player or some full of himself greedy twat taking the piss after 2/3rds of a season.

  18. Aye the 3 parties being Toast, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the club. Nowhere does it say Bobby himself is to pay. The foundation does, and that is the shitter, its taking money out of the foundation which could be used to research and treat cancer. pretty sure mostr every charity ie testimonials etc have to pay the costs of policing etc (in most cases for the transport and lodgings of the oppo aswell) would be worth finding out who paid for shearers testimonial.

  21. ....Are or were good coaches, right Are you putting this nugget amongst them FGS ??? as stated earlier he was rated at spurs and keegan wanted him straight away.
  22. Would you walk away from a job where you haven't a clue, have neither ability nor talent, yet are on several grand a week, knowing no one in their right mind is going to employ you once the penny drops with your employers ? No, you continue to potter and f*ck things up until booted out. He's a coach, right ? You can tell how "good" he is by results on the field That SHOULD say it all, but clearly not with some. don howe brian kidd steve mclaren peter taylor

  24. apparently not in todays squad. if he has refused i hope hughton tells the truth and says so.
  25. True. Obviously, I know absolutely nothing about the facts of the matter, but I find it very suspicious that Gerrard was not guilty of affray for hitting the guy but his mates were... His mates said they were guilty. Gerrard denied the charge. and that matters how ? Of course it matters. I have seen a lot of posts in this thread saying how is it even possible for his mates to be guilty and him getting away with it, well the facts are he was the only one who denied the affray charges. The rest were always going to be charged. they were all charged. do you think it's possible that the jury thought "Oooh yes all those others are guilty cos they admitted it, but this other chap, who we have clearly seen hitting the bloke, has admitted hitting the bloke says in his case it was self defence" if it was you or me and our mates had admitted it and we didn't we'd have been found guilty and given a longer sentence for not showing contrition. not sure about the legal side of this but i'm wondering if their admittal was a patsy as i couldn't see an affray charge ever sticking (assault or ABH seemed more likely) i wonder how the judge/jury can justify the difference between the actions of gerrard and the others. money and public perception are the victors again and once again the scales of justice lean very much to one side.
